ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons: How to Unlock, Upgrade and Repair Them

ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons

ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons are one of the biggest additions to weapon progression in the Frozen Trail 2.0 update, released on October 8, 2026. Instead of simply improving damage, recoil or durability, the new system lets players transform certain guns with powerful upgrades. A Burletta can become fully automatic, the Renegade can gain a scope, and the Rattler can carry a much larger magazine or use incendiary ammunition.

There are a few things to unlock before you can start experimenting with ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons. You’ll need access to the new Outpost, upgraded research facilities and special components recovered from dangerous encounters. The system launches with 15 supported weapons, each offering different enhancements and choices that can permanently change how it performs.

How to Unlock ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons

Weapon Amplification becomes available through the Outpost introduced in Frozen Trail. You’ll need to unlock the base and upgrade your facilities before you can start working on the new weapon quality level.

The process involves five main steps:

  1. Unlock the Outpost. Complete the Sheltered Retreat project, which begins with photographing a farmland house using the new Camera gadget.
  2. Upgrade your facilities. Raise both the Gunsmith and Research Station to Level 4.
  3. Choose a supported weapon. Amplification is available for 15 weapons at launch.
  4. Obtain an Amplification Module. These special components are associated with the Frigate and the fallen Emperor encounter on Pendola Pass.
  5. Amplify your weapon. Use the module to unlock the fifth quality level and begin researching its available enhancements.

The Research Station is located inside your Outpost, so progressing through Sheltered Retreat comes before attempting these upgrades.

Once you’ve unlocked the system, you’ll have access to a different set of upgrades depending on the weapon you’re using.

How ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons Work

The biggest change introduced with Amplification is the addition of a fifth weapon quality level.

Previously, upgrading a gun primarily improved its existing characteristics. The new system goes further by offering branching enhancement paths that change its behaviour.

For example, you might improve a weapon’s firing mode, give it a new ammunition type or increase its magazine capacity.

These upgrades aren’t always straightforward improvements. A faster firing rate might come with increased recoil, while a more powerful ammunition type could prevent you from choosing another enhancement.

Some branches are mutually exclusive, meaning selecting one permanently closes off another.

Amplification also changes the weapon itself. The module becomes integrated into its frame, and the process cannot be reversed once you’ve committed to it.

That makes choosing the right upgrade important, particularly when you’re investing valuable research materials into a favourite gun.

Where to Find Amplification Modules

Amplification Modules are an essential part of creating ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons.

These components are associated with some of the most dangerous encounters added in Frozen Trail.

The two documented sources are:

The Frigate: This enormous ARC vessel appears during the Frigate map condition. Players can board it, explore its interior and search for valuable technology while fighting powerful ARC enemies.

The Fallen Emperor: Located on Pendola Pass, the damaged Emperor contains rare ARC technology. Reaching its interior is one of the more challenging exploration objectives introduced in the update.

Amplification Modules have different Marks associated with weapon quality levels, so you’ll need a compatible module for the weapon you want to upgrade.

The encounters can be dangerous, particularly when other squads are searching for the same valuable resources.

Which Weapons Can Be Amplified?

Embark confirmed that 15 weapons support Amplification at launch, with additional weapons planned for future updates.

The following weapons have documented amplification options:

WeaponAvailable enhancement examples
BurlettaBurst Fire, Full Auto, Sprint Shooting
RenegadeScoped, More Reload
RattlerDrum Mag, Incendiary Rounds, More Reload
AnvilAnvil Splitter, X Rounds
HairpinSemi-Auto, Tracker Rounds, Incendiary Rounds
BettinaBigger Mag, Semi-Auto, X Rounds
CantoCarbine Conversion, Sprint Shooting, Incendiary Rounds
HullcrackerIncendiary Grenades, Mag Reload
KettleX Rounds
JupiterScoped, Straight Bolt

RascalIncendiary Grenade

These are documented weapon options rather than a complete list of every upgrade combination. Each weapon has its own research requirements, and certain enhancements prevent alternative branches from being selected.

Burletta Full Auto Upgrade

One of the most interesting ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons is the Burletta.

Its Full Auto enhancement converts the pistol into a fully automatic firearm, significantly increasing its rate of fire.

The trade-off is reduced damage per shot, lower headshot effectiveness and increased recoil.

Players who prefer a more controlled firing pattern can explore the Burst Fire route instead. That branch provides another way to change the weapon without committing to continuous automatic fire.

Renegade Scoped Upgrade

The Renegade receives a Scoped enhancement, giving players another way to engage targets at longer distances.

Rather than simply increasing its damage, the upgrade changes how you aim and use the weapon.

It’s particularly interesting for players who already favour the Renegade but want greater precision during longer-range encounters.

Rattler Drum Magazine and Incendiary Rounds

The Rattler offers two very different upgrade directions.

One path introduces a Drum Mag, increasing its magazine capacity to 64 rounds. This allows longer periods of firing before reloading, although the additional capacity comes with handling penalties.

Another path introduces Incendiary Rounds, adding fire damage to attacks.

Choosing between ammunition capacity and incendiary effects changes the Rattler’s role in combat, making it a useful example of how different the new upgrade branches can feel.

Research Requirements and Upgrade Materials

Unlocking the Research Station doesn’t automatically grant every weapon enhancement.

Individual upgrades have their own research requirements, which can include Research Points, specific materials and combat objectives.

Some research tasks require players to demonstrate proficiency or complete particular actions before an enhancement becomes available.

The costs and objectives depend on the upgrade you’re researching. You’ll find the relevant requirements in the weapon’s Amplification interface.

It’s worth checking the entire available branch before spending rare components, especially when two upgrades cannot be combined.

The fifth quality level also introduces new reasons to collect ARC technology rather than relying entirely on familiar crafting materials.

How to Repair ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons

Amplified weapons have increased maximum durability compared with their standard counterparts, but they still wear down through use.

Repairs require Amplified Fragments, a new resource associated with the advanced weapon system.

One important detail is what happens when an amplified gun is lost. When its owner dies, the weapon drops to 10% durability.

That means recovering an amplified weapon from another Raider isn’t necessarily an easy way to obtain a fully functional high-tier gun. You’ll still need access to the appropriate research to repair it properly.

The new system rewards players who have developed their own Research Station and unlocked the relevant enhancements.

What Happens to the Anvil Splitter?

Frozen Trail also makes an important change to the Anvil Splitter.

Previously, this item was a weapon modification that allowed the Anvil to fire multiple projectiles.

Following Update 2.0, the Anvil Splitter is no longer usable as a regular attachment. The Anvil’s Tech Mod slot has been removed, and an improved version of the Splitter effect is available through the Amplified Anvil upgrade system.

Existing Anvil Splitter items remain in the game temporarily. Embark confirms that they can be sold or recycled into Amplified Fragments used for repairing amplified weapons.

The item should no longer appear as a new drop.

The Anvil has also moved from Uncommon to Rare rarity, with the new Bantam revolver taking its former place as the Uncommon hand cannon.

Can You Change an Amplified Weapon Upgrade?

Amplification is permanent, so players should choose their upgrade paths carefully.

Once you’ve integrated an Amplification Module into a compatible weapon, the modification changes its frame and cannot be undone.

Some individual branches also block alternative enhancements, preventing you from combining every upgrade on a single gun.

Before committing to an upgrade, check its description, stat changes and any incompatible branches.

This is particularly important for enhancements that significantly alter handling, such as the Burletta’s Full Auto conversion or the Rattler’s increased magazine capacity.

Are ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons Worth Unlocking?

For players who already have favourite weapons, Amplification offers a substantial new reason to keep developing them.

The system gives older guns new capabilities rather than simply replacing them with more powerful equipment. A relatively familiar weapon can feel completely different after receiving a new firing mode, ammunition type or handling enhancement.

There’s also a longer progression path involved. Unlocking the Outpost, upgrading research facilities and recovering advanced components gives experienced Raiders additional objectives beyond ordinary scavenging.

ARC Raiders Amplified Weapons are especially appealing if you enjoy experimenting with different loadouts. With 15 supported guns at launch and more planned later, the fifth quality level opens up plenty of new combinations for players willing to invest in their equipment.
