AION 2 System Requirements: Minimum and Recommended PC Specs

AION 2 System Requirements

AION 2 System Requirements are more useful when they are read as two target profiles rather than a shopping list. NC’s minimum spec is explicitly tied to very low settings at 1080p, while the recommended spec still points to low settings at 1080p, which gives players an important expectation before they install a 100 GB MMO.

Storage and memory are also easy to overlook. The game requires 100 GB of available space, recommends an SSD, and moves from 8 GB RAM at minimum to 16 GB RAM in the recommended configuration.

The official AION 2 System Requirements add a performance note that matters more than the raw model names. NC says the minimum profile should use the Very Low graphics preset at FHD resolution, while the recommended profile should use the Low preset at FHD.

What the minimum spec is really for

Meeting AION 2 System Requirements at the minimum level should be treated as the floor for running the game, not a promise of high settings in crowded cities or large battles. The GTX 1050 Ti and 8 GB RAM target is paired with Very Low at 1080p for a reason.

If your PC sits close to that floor, close unnecessary background applications before large PvP sessions and leave enough free storage for patches. An MMO can become less forgiving when memory pressure and asset streaming are competing with browsers, launchers and overlays.

What the recommended spec tells you

The recommended AION 2 System Requirements move to a Ryzen 7 3700X or Core i7-11700, 16 GB RAM and RTX 2070 8 GB. NC still describes Low at FHD as the compatibility baseline for that profile rather than promising Ultra settings.

That is useful expectation-setting. A PC above the recommended list has more room to raise settings, but crowded encounters can still be heavier than solo questing because the game is rendering more players, effects and world activity at once.

Do you need an SSD?

The store lists an SSD as recommended rather than an absolute AION 2 System Requirements gate. In practice, an SSD is the sensible installation target for a modern 100 GB open-world MMO because it reduces the storage bottleneck when loading zones and streaming assets.

If you only have enough room on a slower drive, the game may still satisfy the written storage requirement, but moving it to an SSD is a more useful first upgrade than trying to solve every hitch with graphics settings.

How much free space should you leave?

The official requirement is 100 GB available, but do not plan to run the drive with exactly zero headroom after installation. Patches and temporary update files can need extra working space. Keeping a healthy buffer also helps avoid failed updates caused by a drive that fills during unpacking.

That advice does not change the formal AION 2 System Requirements. It is simply sensible storage planning around a live-service game that will continue receiving updates.

Can Windows 10 still run AION 2?

Yes. AION 2 System Requirements list both Windows 10 and Windows 11 in 64-bit form. DirectX 12 is required on both minimum and recommended profiles.

Linux is not officially supported for the global service, and Steam Deck is also outside NC’s support list. Players experimenting on those platforms should not treat the Windows specification table as a guarantee that every compatibility layer will work.

What to upgrade first if you are below spec

  • If you have less than 8 GB RAM, memory is below the published minimum.
  • If the GPU is below GTX 1050 Ti class, graphics is the clearest minimum-spec problem.
  • If storage is short of 100 GB, clear or move files before downloading the client.
  • If you meet the minimum but suffer stutter, an SSD and 16 GB RAM are sensible quality-of-life improvements.
  • Keep drivers and Windows current before assuming a performance problem is caused by server lag.

AION 2 System Requirements are not unusually mysterious once the settings notes are included. Minimum means 1080p Very Low, recommended means 1080p Low, and stronger hardware gives you the room to push beyond those baselines rather than magically removing every MMO performance spike.

When comparing hardware, AION 2 System Requirements make more sense alongside the official FHD preset notes than as a promise that every listed part will deliver the same frame rate everywhere.

Crowded hubs and large faction fights are the situations most likely to expose a weak CPU, limited memory or slow storage, so test those areas before deciding that a quiet solo zone represents your worst-case performance.
