AION 2 Ariel Daevanion is the new progression board introduced in the October 21 update, with its crystals made from Ariel Fragments earned in Krao Cave Hard and Draupnir Hard. Each dungeon awards a different fragment type, and the crystal recipe has a per-character conversion limit.
Before spending fragments, it helps to understand both recipes. You can save 100 fragments for a Daevanion Crystal: Ariel, or use individual fragments to obtain Enhance Stones. Those options have different caps and lead to different progression decisions.

Where Ariel Fragments drop
AION 2 Ariel Daevanion fragments come from Krao Cave Hard and Draupnir Hard. Both new Expedition difficulties require item level 2,600 and impose a four-minute boss Frenzy timer with three revives per player. You must be ready for the new dungeon difficulty rather than expecting fragments from the Normal Mode rewards.
NC says the Ariel Fragment rewarded varies by dungeon. AION 2 Ariel Daevanion farmers should check which fragment type each run produces before committing to repeated clears. The patch notes establish the dungeon-dependent reward, but do not list specific fragment quantities for every clear.
How to get Daevanion Crystal: Ariel
| Conversion | Materials | Menu | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daevanion Crystal: Ariel | 100 Ariel Fragments | Substance Morph → Special → Daevanion | 30 per character |
| 5 Enhance Stones | 1 Ariel Fragment | Substance Morph → Special → Consumables | No stated conversion limit |
Go to Substance Morph, choose Special, then Daevanion. The confirmed recipe converts 100 Ariel Fragments into one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound). The recipe can be used up to 30 times per character.
Each crystal costs 100 fragments. All 30 conversions would therefore cost 3,000 fragments, but that is only the recipe arithmetic: NC has not published a fixed amount earned per run. AION 2 Ariel Daevanion points earned through Substance Morph also have a separate limit for each dungeon. The notice doesn’t give the number of points available from Krao Cave or Draupnir.
The Enhance Stone alternative
You do not have to use every fragment for crystals. Substance Morph also offers five Enhance Stones in exchange for one Ariel Fragment, in Special, Consumables. NC states that this conversion can be made without a quantity limit.
For AION 2 Ariel Daevanion players, the Enhance Stone recipe has no stated conversion cap, but each exchange still consumes a fragment. If you’re saving for the AION 2 Ariel Daevanion board, remember that fragments exchanged for stones are no longer available for the 100-fragment crystal recipe.

What is known about the new board
The new Ariel board is added in the October 21 patch. NC says Ariel Daevanion points come from collecting dungeon fragments and morphing them, but the notice does not list the individual board nodes or their costs. Check the board’s actual requirements before converting more fragments than you need.
Planning a Hard Mode farming route
To start farming for AION 2 Ariel Daevanion, first confirm your item level is at least 2,600. Choose the dungeon that awards the fragment type you require, and prepare for the four-minute Frenzy timer and three-revive limit. Neither dungeon has a confirmed special shortcut for obtaining Ariel materials in the patch announcement.
AION 2 Ariel Daevanion fragments sit alongside several other new Hard Mode rewards, including Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation, Expedition Hero Artwork, more Kina than Normal difficulty and Unique crafting materials. Farming can support more than one aim even if the exact amount of fragments varies by clear.
Related progression and future node guides
The crystals and Enhance Stones compete for the same fragments. If you intend to unlock board upgrades, check the crystal recipe and the actual board requirements first; a fragment spent on Enhance Stones cannot also be used for a crystal.
