Fortnite Save the World Starter Pack Heroes return to the Event Items shop on 19 November 2026. Epic has confirmed that the original Epic-rarity Heroes and weapon Schematics will become available for Gold during the Frozen Fjords Ventures season.

That means you can obtain the returning gameplay items without having bought the old Starter Packs. Players with unopened Birthday Llamas have another way to try for them right now, following the v43.00 update.

When do Fortnite Save the World Starter Pack Heroes return?

The returning items arrive on Thursday, November 19, during Frozen Fjords. Epic hasn’t announced a shop refresh hour, so check Event Items on the day rather than relying on a guessed time.

These are seasonal items, not permanent stock. Epic says they’ll return each year alongside Frozen Fjords, giving collectors another chance if they miss this event.

How to buy Fortnite Save the World Starter Pack Heroes with Gold

From November 19, open Save the World and go to Exchange > Event Items. You’ll find the returning Heroes and Schematics there, available for Gold. Epic hasn’t announced the individual prices, so check each listing before spending your saved currency.

The Gold-store return covers playable Heroes and weapon Schematics, not complete copies of the old paid bundles. A Save the World Hero is different from a Locker Outfit, and the original packs’ cosmetics and V-Bucks challenges aren’t part of this new offering.

Which Fortnite Save the World Starter Pack Heroes and Schematics are included?

Epic describes the returning selection as Epic-rarity Heroes and Schematics from the original Starter Packs, rather than announcing a full list of names and prices. Metal Team Leader and the Papa Bear Schematic are an example of the two kinds of gameplay rewards that came together in an early pack. If you are after one particular Hero or weapon, check the November 19 Event Items selection before spending your Gold. The shop listing is where you will be able to see the items actually available.

Save the World Gold is also a different currency from the Gold Bars used in Battle Royale. The new Battle Royale season has vaulted Gold Bars, but that does not remove Gold purchases from the Save the World Exchange. You can continue collecting and saving the currency used by this mode, whether you plan to buy a returning Schematic for your collection or a Hero you missed when the original pack was sold.

Can you get Fortnite Save the World Starter Pack Heroes from Birthday Llamas?

Yes. If you kept any Birthday Llamas unopened, they can now contain original Starter Pack Heroes and items. That reward-pool change is already live in v43.00, so you don’t need to wait for the Gold shop.

Birthday Llamas are random, so opening one won’t guarantee the Hero you’re after. The Event Items shop offers a more direct option from November 19. Our Birthday Llama guide covers the changed rewards.

Can Fortnite Save the World Starter Pack Heroes go in the Collection Book?

Yes. The newly obtainable legacy items can be added to the Collection Book. However, being able to slot an item isn’t the same as using a voucher to recruit or research it. Epic says voucher access for these original items is coming later.

Owners who paid for original packs are also receiving compensation: Gold for each pack owned plus one Hero Recruitment Voucher. That is not one voucher per pack. Our compensation explainer covers the entitlement.

Do you need to purchase Save the World now?

No. Save the World became free-to-play in April 2026. Getting the old gameplay items during Frozen Fjords doesn’t require buying a historic Starter Pack or paying for entry to the mode. The free-to-play guide covers access for new players.

If you want the old gameplay items, check any saved Birthday Llamas now or buy the eligible Heroes and Schematics from the Gold store starting November 19. Neither method gives you the original paid cosmetics.
