What the World Sees stopped some World of Warcraft: Midnight players at the objective to listen to Arator and Orweyna. Instead of playing the conversation, the characters stood silently and the quest never progressed. Reloading, leaving the area and abandoning the quest frequently failed to restore the missing dialogue.
The status changed on October 14, 2026. Blizzard community manager Linxy confirmed that What the World Sees should now be fixed, although Arator might need time to respawn on a player’s realm. The recommended approach is to revisit the objective and wait for the corrected event, not to assume a repeated quest reset is necessary.
What the World Sees fix: what Blizzard said on October 14

The Blizzard blue-post says the What the World Sees problem should be resolved and notes that players may need to allow Arator to respawn. This is a stronger update than the earlier acknowledgement that the team was investigating. It also explains why the issue could remain visible temporarily even after the fix was deployed.
The wording ‘should now be fixed’ matters. It means Blizzard expects the quest to work, not that every character has already retriggered a missing conversation. If the NPC still isn’t present, the first sensible check is to allow some time for the respawn before trying more disruptive actions.
Why Arator and Orweyna dialogue was bugged
Before the update, players reached What the World Sees and found that the scene intended to play between Arator and Orweyna never started. In some reports both characters were present but silent. In others the quest showed the correct listen objective but wouldn’t mark it completed. That halted campaign advancement through the affected quest.
This was not a case of needing to type a particular emote or select an unusual dialogue choice. Blizzard acknowledged a problem with quest progression. No official explanation establishes that a graphical setting, addon or the player’s class was the underlying cause, so there is no good reason to change unrelated game settings as a cure.
How to complete What the World Sees after the hotfix
- Track What the World Sees in your quest journal.
- Return to the objective involving Arator and Orweyna.
- If Arator is missing, give him time to respawn on your realm, as Blizzard advised.
- Approach the NPCs and allow their dialogue to begin and finish.
- Check the quest tracker to confirm the listen objective has advanced before moving on.
- If it stays blocked, record your realm and quest state for a bug report.
What the World Sees should progress after the corrected scene runs. The required task is listening to the characters, so don’t leave the interaction zone before the sequence has completed. If the quest advances, you can carry on with the campaign normally without resetting unrelated story quests.
What if What the World Sees is still not working?

Check for a fresh Blizzard message first. Although the developer says the issue should be fixed, realm respawn behaviour can delay what players see. A player finding Arator on another realm doesn’t mean your version of the event has necessarily reset yet. Return after allowing the NPC time to respawn.
Reports before the hotfix describe players trying /reload, relogging, leaving the area and abandoning then restarting What the World Sees without success. Don’t present those historical attempts as confirmed solutions now. If the scene still fails, a report with the current realm and exact objective is more useful than repeatedly reinstalling the game.
Should you abandon What the World Sees and restart?
Abandoning a campaign quest may make you repeat earlier stages, and it didn’t consistently restore the dialogue when the issue was first reported. It is not the first step after Blizzard’s fix notice. Try the corrected scene and give Arator time to appear before taking action that can undo progression.
If the developer later gives specific instructions for characters still stuck in the old phase, follow those. Otherwise preserve your quest and submit a bug report. The What the World Sees fix targets the dialogue event; it does not automatically mean every other October campaign progression bug was addressed.
Is this the same as In the Belly of the Beast?
No. What the World Sees concerns Arator and Orweyna failing to speak, while In the Belly of the Beast concerns Lady Liadrin and a Final Assault event that will not begin. They appeared at a similar time but have separate acknowledgements and different fix statuses. Only the dialogue quest received the October 14 ‘should now be fixed’ confirmation cited here.
For Lady Liadrin problems, see our In the Belly of the Beast bug guide. Mixing up the two quests may lead players to attempt a workaround that has no relevance to their actual blocked objective.
Can you continue the campaign while the scene is missing?
You can complete other Midnight activities not gated behind the quest, but the blocked listen objective won’t grant story credit without running the corrected dialogue. If What the World Sees is working again, finish it and resume the next campaign stage. If not, report it with enough detail to establish that your character remains affected after the announced fix.
The broader Promise of Tomorrow campaign and Midnight 12.1.5 update guides cover what else is available. Blizzard’s support thread is the appropriate place to watch for further fixes to the What the World Sees dialogue event.
