Fortnite colorblind settings are under Video, not the general gameplay menu. Open your profile menu, choose Settings, switch to Video and scroll to Graphics to change the colour blind mode before selecting Apply. The option can help players distinguish colours they find difficult to separate, but the right choice depends on their eyes and display.
A lot of online recommendations use a particular colour mode and strength just because a streamer does. That can make loot glow, storm colours or terrain look quite different on another monitor. Try the settings in the same location and lighting before settling on a combination; there isn’t a universal competitive preset.
How to change Fortnite colorblind settings
Open Fortnite, enter the lobby and select the profile icon. Choose the gear icon for Settings, then select Video. Scroll to Graphics, find Color Blind Mode and adjust the available mode and strength controls. Select Apply before leaving the menu. If the game doesn’t retain your choice when you restart, our settings-not-saving guide covers file permissions and console troubleshooting. Changing Windows colour filters alone doesn’t change the in-game option.
Which colour blind mode should you choose?
The commonly encountered modes are Deuteranope, Protanope and Tritanope, intended to help with different kinds of colour-vision differences. They’re not three levels of competitive skill. Begin with the mode that makes the colours you personally struggle to tell apart easier to separate. If you’re unsure, test each in the lobby and in a normal game rather than guessing based on a screenshot taken with another monitor’s calibration.

Fortnite colorblind settings: what does the strength slider change?
Fortnite colorblind settings include an intensity or strength adjustment where supported. A stronger filter makes the selected correction more pronounced; it doesn’t increase game brightness, rendering quality or FPS. Begin near the lower end, compare how item colours and terrain appear, and increase until the distinctions are clear without making other colours difficult to read. Adjust one variable at a time so you can reverse a change you dislike.
Are colour blind filters the same as Digital Vibrance?
No. Fortnite colorblind settings are inside the game and are designed to change colour presentation. NVIDIA Digital Vibrance is a graphics-driver adjustment on compatible PCs and can affect the entire desktop or selected displays. Raising saturation through a driver isn’t the same as choosing Deuteranope in Fortnite. Console players won’t find an NVIDIA Control Panel menu, and external monitor presets vary by manufacturer.
Fortnite colorblind settings: why do colours still look wrong?
Check whether your display has an active HDR mode, a monitor gaming preset, or platform-level colour filter. Multiple filters can combine and leave an image looking unlike a guide screenshot. Return the Fortnite colourblind mode to its default as a comparison, then enable one correction at a time. If the whole screen is excessively dark, investigate display brightness and console HDR output separately instead of treating it as a colour-blindness setting problem.

How to test visibility without copying pro settings
Pick a familiar map location and compare sky, foliage, loot indicators and enemy outlines while you move. Test the change with visual audio indicators on if you normally use them. Leave enough time for your eyes to adjust and don’t assume the brightest-looking filter is the easiest to read after a long session. Fortnite colorblind settings should improve your ability to recognise information, not turn every surface into oversaturated colour.
Fortnite colorblind settings: can you use the setting on PS5, Xbox and PC?
Epic’s accessibility instructions describe the Video > Graphics path in Fortnite itself. Individual settings can differ by device or rendering mode, so use the options actually shown on your platform. If a requested item is absent, check the correct tab, update the game and avoid copying PC-only driver instructions to a console. Save the game-side setting with Apply and check it during a match.
