Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics are difficulty modifiers that trade comfort for progression power. In Rogue Run, active Relics build the Relic Tier meter, and Season 6 finally gives that meter a direct gameplay payoff: Tier I unlocks Golden Armor into the upgrade path, Tier II unlocks Ultra weapon rarity, and Tier III unlocks Pack-a-Punch IV. The Relic effect itself is a downside, while the higher tier is what gives you access to stronger rewards.
Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics are divided into Grim, Sinister and Wicked severities. Grim contributes one third of a Relic Tier, Sinister contributes two thirds, and Wicked contributes one full tier. You can therefore reach the same tier with different combinations, but those combinations can create very different levels of danger. A single Wicked Relic may be mathematically efficient while imposing a much harsher rule than several Grim effects.
Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics: Grim, Sinister and Wicked values
Grim Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics are the lightest tier and each fills one third of the meter. Examples include effects that disable normal Power-Up spawns, remove the Mystery Box, randomise equipment or speed up the time between rounds. Three Grim Relics equal Tier I, making them a controllable route when you would rather stack several smaller problems than gamble on a severe Wicked modifier.
Sinister Relics provide two thirds of a tier. Their effects are generally more disruptive, such as limiting the number of Perks, disabling Self-Revives, reducing Salvage drops or causing killed zombies to explode. Wicked Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics give a full tier and can introduce major restrictions such as double enemy damage, disabled Ammo Crates, disabled Augments or critical-damage-only enemies.

How Cursed Relics affect Rogue Run rewards
The Season 6 reason to care about Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics is the new pedestal progression. At Tier I, Golden Armor becomes available as the armor route beyond Tier III Armor. At Tier II, Ultra rarity becomes available for weapons. At Tier III, Level 4 Aether Crystals can appear and provide Pack-a-Punch IV.
The upgraded reward pool does not erase the Relic penalties. You still have to play around every active modifier. That means the best Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics for a long run are not simply the ones that provide the most meter. They are the combination your build can survive while still reaching the tier required for the reward you are chasing.
Using random Relics from the Curse Inducer
The Curse Inducer lets Rogue Run add a random Cursed Relic during the attempt. Once selected, the effect remains active for the rest of the run and contributes its normal tier value. Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics from the tablet can therefore rescue a run that started below its required tier, but the randomness means you need to adapt immediately after every activation.
If the new Relic disables a system you were relying on, change your priorities before adding another. A run that loses Ammo Crates should value ammunition support differently. A run with exploding enemies needs more spacing. A run with a Perk cap has to decide which Perks matter most. Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics become dangerous when players keep stacking them without changing how they play.
Best Relic approach for Calling Card challenges
For five rounds at Tier I, you only need enough Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics to cross the first tier and then survive five completed rounds. That is a much smaller commitment than the Hardcore requirement. Makeshift Defense on Paradox Junction and Golden Opportunity on Kowakujō both require 15 completed rounds at Tier III.
The efficient approach is to reach the required tier before the run becomes desperate, then stop adding unnecessary Relics. Tier III is the relevant ceiling for the Season 6 pedestal upgrades, so piling on more Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics after that point increases difficulty without unlocking Tier IV rewards. Do it only if you deliberately want the additional challenge.
Cursed Relics are not the same as buffs
The name can be misleading if you only see the tier meter. Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics are restrictions first. The reward for accepting them is access to stronger systems and tier-gated challenges. That is why a Relic can feel actively harmful while still being the correct choice for a Rogue Run progression goal.
Plan the run around the restriction you receive, keep the tier requirement in view and use the new Season 6 upgrades to compensate. Golden Armor helps attrition, Ultra rarity helps weapon scaling and Pack-a-Punch IV raises the late-run weapon ceiling. Black Ops 7 Cursed Relics make those tools available, but they never stop being part of the difficulty you have agreed to carry.
