Warframe Arcane Ice Storm is an Ascension Warframe Arcane that rewards repeatedly freezing enemies. At max rank, every enemy frozen grants 2% Ability Strength and 2% Ability Duration for 15 seconds, stacking up to 20 times. At full stacks that is 40% Strength and 40% Duration while the buff is maintained.
Arcane Ice Storm arrived with Jade Shadows. Digital Extremes says the new Ascension Arcanes can be acquired from Sisters of Parvos spawned in Ascension, or exchanged for Vestigial Motes through Ordis. The permanent Ascension node is Brutus on Uranus after completing the Jade Shadows quest.

The trigger is an enemy being Frozen, not merely receiving one Cold stack. That distinction matters because Cold Status builds toward the Frozen state. A setup that applies Cold rapidly and consistently can therefore build Ice Storm far more naturally than one that only splashes occasional Cold procs.
With 20 maximum stacks, the Arcane can provide a meaningful amount of both Strength and Duration. The 15-second window means a build should continue freezing enemies during combat rather than expecting one opening group to sustain the buff forever.
How to get Warframe Arcane Ice Storm from Ascension
Complete Jade Shadows to unlock Brutus on Uranus and the Ascension game mode. During Ascension, the Sister of Parvos encounter is the direct enemy source for the new Arcanes introduced with the update.
Vestigial Motes provide the deterministic side of the farm through Ordis. During the original Operation, Ordis was at Larunda Relay; Digital Extremes stated that after Belly of the Beast ended he would relocate to the Drifter Camp and continue offering his wares.
Best builds for Warframe Arcane Ice Storm
Ice Storm wants two things at once: a reliable way to freeze enemies and abilities that genuinely benefit from both Strength and Duration. If a frame only wants one of those stats, the Arcane is still usable, but part of its budget is being wasted.
Consider how quickly the build reaches Frozen against the enemies you actually fight. A Cold source that looks fine in a low-level test can feel slow in a Steel Path room if it cannot spread or stack efficiently.
Warframe Arcane Ice Storm farming tips
Ascension is more efficient when you need several Jade Shadows rewards at once. Jade components and her weapons share the wider activity ecosystem, so a player still building Jade has more reasons to remain in Brutus than someone farming only one Arcane.
Use Vestigial Motes to smooth out bad luck rather than hoarding them while repeating the same drop indefinitely. The vendor route exists precisely to make the Ascension grind less dependent on one random Arcane appearing at the right time.
Warframe Arcane Ice Storm: quick answer
Warframe Arcane Ice Storm is worth farming when its activation condition matches the build you actually play. The acquisition routes above give you more than one way to work toward a max-rank copy, so use the route that overlaps with other rewards you still need rather than treating one mission as mandatory.
Warframe Arcane Ice Storm: Cold is not automatically Frozen
The trigger text says ‘On Enemy Frozen.’ Cold Status has its own stacking behaviour before a target reaches the Frozen state, so a weak or infrequent Cold application can leave Ice Storm building far more slowly than the mod screen suggests.
Warframe Arcane Ice Storm: Full stacks are 40 and 40
Twenty stacks at 2% each produce 40% Ability Strength and 40% Ability Duration. That is a substantial dual-stat buff, but the 15-second duration keeps the Arcane interactive. The build has to keep finding enemies it can freeze if it wants the full value to persist.
If you are farming Ice Storm specifically, remember that a max-rank copy needs repeated Arcane drops or purchases. Ascension’s Vestigial Mote route is therefore important even when Sisters are being uncooperative. Treat random drops as acceleration and the currency shop as the route that eventually closes the gap.
For Warframe Arcane Ice Storm, check the current reward screen or vendor before committing to another long farm. Warframe has multiple overlapping acquisition systems, and the fastest route is the one that is actually available to your account while also paying out something else you still need.
