Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage: How to Unlock It and Earn Pumpkin Candy

Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage

Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage is learned from Zorua in Bleak Beach and lets Ditto transform into an object directly in front of it. The move was already useful for Zorua’s hide-and-seek content, and it is required during the event because Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises uses Camouflage to earn Pumpkin Candy.

Zorua doesn’t greet you in its usual form. Near the Bleak Beach Pokémon Center, look for an odd square block with a speech bubble, break the disguise using Rock Smash and complete Zorua’s Toy Blocks request. That’s how Ditto learns the move.

How to unlock Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage

  1. Progress through Bleak Beach until you have completed the request to build your home.
  2. Return to the area around the Bleak Beach Pokémon Center.
  3. Look for a square block that seems out of place and has a small speech bubble above it.
  4. Use Rock Smash on the block to reveal Zorua.
  5. Talk to Zorua and accept the Toy Blocks request.
  6. Craft the Toy Block requested by Zorua and bring it back.
  7. Finish the request to learn Camouflage.

Once you’ve finished the request, Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage is yours to use beyond the Halloween event. If you can’t see it on your move wheel later, check the shortcut assignment before returning to Zorua.

Where is Zorua for Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage?

Zorua is hiding near the Bleak Beach Pokémon Center as a square block with a speech bubble. Look along the ground rather than searching for Zorua’s usual appearance, then use Rock Smash to reveal it.

If you don’t see the block, continue the early Bleak Beach storyline and finish the home-building request. Then search the ground near the Center again, looking for the block with the speech indicator.

How to use Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage

To use Camouflage, stand close to the object you want to imitate, face it and activate the move. Ditto takes on that object’s appearance. You can move while disguised, but a disguise is easier to use for a surprise when you wait in the right place.

Camouflage also features in Zorua’s hide-and-seek activity. During Sweet Surprises, use the same ability to look like something another Pokémon likes, wait for it to approach and reveal the disguise to earn Pumpkin Candy. Our Pumpkin Candy guide covers what to buy with it.

Why Camouflage matters for Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises

The Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage move is an explicit requirement for Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises. Pumpkin Candy is earned by using disguises and pulling off tricks on nearby Pokémon, and that candy is then exchanged for the seasonal furniture used during the event.

The Halloween activity ends at 4:59 a.m. local time on 1 November, so unlock Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage before the cutoff if you still want the event furniture or Gourgeist. The ability itself isn’t a temporary event reward.

Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage missing from the move wheel

If Pokémon Pokopia Camouflage is missing from the move wheel, open the wheel and check your registered shortcuts. Select an available slot and register Camouflage again. An unassigned shortcut is different from losing the ability.

If you completed Zorua’s request already, start with the move wheel rather than repeating the story steps. Once the ability is assigned, try it on a small object in front of Ditto to confirm it works.
