Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins can now be used with any NATO class after Update 1.4.3.5 removed the original class restrictions. That means Lt. Bradley Rooster Bradshaw and Lt. Robert Bob Floyd are no longer locked to the specific class roles attached to their Top Gun launch setup.
The change to Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins applies to the soldier characters and their associated cosmetic skins. EA also removed the class-specific gadget imagery from their skin icons, which makes the updated presentation match the new all-class behaviour.
Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins now work with every NATO class

Update 1.4.3.5 changes both Top Gun characters from class-restricted cosmetics to all-class NATO soldiers. You can now select Rooster or Bob while using whichever NATO class fits your current loadout instead of changing your role just to use the character.
This is specifically a NATO-side cosmetic change. EA’s patch notes say both can be used across all NATO classes, so it should not be read as permission to use the characters with every faction in every possible Battlefield 6 context.
How to use Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins with another class
- Install Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.3.5.
- Open the soldier or class customisation screen.
- Select a NATO class you want to play.
- Open the available soldier or character appearance options.
- Choose Rooster or Bob if that character is owned on your account.
- Select the associated Top Gun skin you want to equip.
- Save the loadout and enter a supported match.
If the game still presents one of the characters as class locked, restart Battlefield 6 after confirming the update has fully installed. EA’s current changelog says the restrictions have been removed, so an old running session or incomplete update is the first thing to rule out.
Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins: which bundles include them?
Rooster was introduced through the Top Gun: Helix Legacy bundle, while Bob arrived through Top Gun: Helix Resolve. EA launched both bundles during Season 4’s Top Gun phase, with each package built around the named Top Gun character plus additional soldiers, skins and weapon cosmetics.
The class-restriction change does not grant either paid character for free. Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins become more flexible if you already own the relevant content, but Update 1.4.3.5 does not replace the original ownership requirement.
Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins: what changed from launch?
At launch, the character skins were associated with specific class roles. That produced complaints from players who wanted to use the purchased Top Gun characters without being forced into one class.
EA’s 1.4.3.5 developer note explicitly says the restriction was removed because of community feedback. The update therefore changes the cosmetic rule rather than simply fixing a visual menu bug.
Do the skins change your gadgets or class abilities?
No. Choosing Rooster or Bob does not turn one class into another. Your current class still determines its normal equipment, role and gameplay options.
EA also removed class-specific gadget imagery from the Rooster and Bob skin icons. That is a presentation change designed to stop the cosmetic tile implying that the character itself is tied to one gadget set.
Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins still locked after the patch
First verify that Update 1.4.3.5 is installed and restart the game completely. Then open a NATO class and recheck the soldier customisation screen rather than relying on a loadout menu that was already open before the patch.
If only one owned skin remains unavailable across classes after a clean restart, capture the exact character, skin and class combination before reporting it. That is more useful than describing the whole Top Gun bundle as missing.
Can Rooster and Bob be used in REDSEC?
EA introduced both characters as Battlefield 6 and REDSEC Top Gun content. Availability still depends on the mode’s normal faction and customisation rules, but the 1.4.3.5 change removes the NATO class lock from the characters themselves.
Battlefield 6 Rooster and Bob Skins are therefore much easier to use after the patch because your preferred NATO role no longer has to dictate which Top Gun character appears on the field.
