The official September 22 Xbox memo does not say Arkane is leaving. It says consultation remains underway and is expected to continue through the end of the year.
That makes any claim that Arkane has already been sold, spun out or closed premature.
What consultation is Arkane in?
The July Xbox reset announcement said Arkane management was beginning required consultation with its Works Council to review potential strategic options. That process is the background to Is Arkane Leaving Xbox.
Microsoft has not published a final option or outcome in the September update.
Is Arkane being sold?
A sale is not confirmed. Is Arkane Leaving Xbox may eventually have that answer, but the current Microsoft wording only confirms ongoing consultation.
Unlike Undead Labs, which has completed its separation and announced employee ownership, Arkane has not announced an independent ownership structure.
Is Arkane closing?
No closure has been announced. The current answer to Is Arkane Leaving Xbox is simply that consultation continues.
That differs from Ninja Theory, where Microsoft has explicitly begun consultation on a proposed closure after two agreements fell through.
What happens to Blade?
The September update does not announce a cancellation, transfer or release change for Blade while addressing Is Arkane Leaving Xbox. It only gives the studio consultation status.
A Blade cancellation or new publisher therefore needs separate confirmation. Silence in a corporate memo is not proof that development has stopped.
Why could this take until the end of 2026?
Microsoft does not provide a detailed timetable beyond saying the consultation is expected to continue through the end of the year. That means Is Arkane Leaving Xbox may remain unresolved until the process reaches a formal outcome.
How is Arkane different from Undead Labs?
Undead Labs has already completed the kind of separation people are asking about in Is Arkane Leaving Xbox: it is independent and employee-owned. Arkane has not reached that point.
