South Rimeria II Powerpass: Lost Ark’s New 1660 Powerpass Explained

South Rimeria II Powerpass is now the only Powerpass available for purchase in Lost Ark, replacing the more cluttered set of progression skips that existed before Dimensions Unbound. Using it boosts the selected character directly to item level 1660, which lines up neatly with the starting requirement for the September Jump-Up Boost and the lower edge of Rapid Growth eligibility.

South Rimeria II Powerpass is therefore more than a renamed store item. It sits at the handoff between the new streamlined Tier 4 baseline and the events designed to carry a character toward 1720, making item level 1660 the practical point where paid catch-up and event catch-up now meet.

South Rimeria II Powerpass boosts a character to 1660

South Rimeria II Powerpass instantly takes the chosen character to item level 1660. Amazon lists that number directly in the progression section of the September notes, so there is no need to rely on older Powerpass tables or assume the pass stops at a previous continent’s gear level.

For a newly created Dimensionalist, the class is already supported in the gear chests provided during Powerpass use. That is particularly important at launch because it means the new class can use the current catch-up route without waiting for a later equipment update.

Why the old purchasable Powerpasses disappeared

South Rimeria II Powerpass becomes the sole purchasable option because Dimensions Unbound is simplifying the progression path into Tier 4. Normal honing now starts on Tier 4 Determination of Destiny gear at item level 1640, while much of the old Tier 3 material and research structure has been removed or converted.

Keeping a stack of older paid skips aimed at obsolete milestones would work against that simplification. Consolidating the shop around one 1660 option gives returning players a clearer answer about where a bought character should enter the modern progression track.

How it connects to Jump-Up Boost and Rapid Growth

South Rimeria II Powerpass places a character directly at the minimum item level for Jump-Up Boost, which accepts any character at 1660 or higher. It also lands exactly at the bottom of Rapid Growth’s 1660 to 1700 selection window. That makes the three systems look as if they were designed to connect rather than existing as unrelated catch-up features.

Do not automatically assign every event the second the boosted character appears, though. Jump-Up Boost allows only one selected character per account with one change, and Rapid Growth has its own designated-character rules. Check the roster first so a paid boost does not tempt you into locking account-limited event support onto a character you only wanted as an alt.

When buying the pass may not be necessary

South Rimeria II Powerpass is a convenience route, not a requirement for participating in Dimensions Unbound. Existing characters already inside the relevant item-level band can use the progression events without buying a new Powerpass, while a returning roster may have several characters close enough to 1660 that normal progression is the better use of resources.

The clean decision is to compare the character’s current state with the 1660 destination. If the pass skips a large amount of content you do not want to repeat, it has a clear purpose. If the character is already near the new Tier 4 baseline, the September honing and event changes may provide enough help without paying to jump a relatively small gap.

The new pass also fits the wider removal of older Tier 3 progression friction. It makes little sense to sell a skip that deposits a character into a progression tier the same update is actively simplifying, so the 1660 destination matches the new design much better.

For a fresh main, South Rimeria II Powerpass is most valuable when the 1660 destination saves a meaningful amount of progression rather than merely skipping a small final stretch. The September 16 live version is the baseline here, so older pre-patch routes or numbers should be checked against the current in-game interface before spending materials or locking an account-limited choice.
