Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade expands significantly in Dimensions Unbound with seven additional Guardians and a new weekly rotation structure. Kungelanium, Hanumatan, Deskaluda, Igrexion, Velganos, Achates and Alberhastic are joining the mode, giving the September patch a meaningful combat addition beyond progression events and class balance work.
Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade starts the new setup with Kungelanium appearing for one week after the September 16 maintenance. After that launch week, Amazon says the mode moves to a weekly rotation containing 15 Guardians in total, combining the new additions with the Guardians that were already part of the activity.
Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade adds seven Guardians

Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade now includes Kungelanium, Hanumatan, Deskaluda, Igrexion, Velganos, Achates and Alberhastic. These are not simple copy-paste additions from their older encounters. The release notes say threatening patterns have been removed or eased for the new entries, and HP has been adjusted for the Guardians and their lower trial stages.
That makes the mode a reinterpretation of familiar fights rather than a demand to relearn every historical mechanic exactly as it originally appeared. Returning players will recognise names and broad attack themes, but the Guardian’s Shade versions are tuned for this activity’s current structure.
Kungelanium is the first weekly Guardian
Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade uses Kungelanium as the first featured addition for one week following the September 16 maintenance. Once that introductory week is over, a total pool of 15 Guardians rotates weekly. Amazon does not present the entire future order in the patch notes, so do not assume an old Korean schedule is guaranteed to match the western rotation exactly.
The weekly format means preparation should start with the active Guardian rather than treating the mode like one permanent boss encounter. If you are preparing counters, stagger tools or survivability around a specific fight, confirm which Guardian is actually live for the week before changing a full raid preset.
| Guardian | September status |
|---|---|
| Kungelanium | Added |
| Hanumatan | Added |
| Deskaluda | Added |
| Igrexion | Added |
| Velganos | Added |
| Achates | Added |
| Alberhastic | Added |
Counter Attack and Perfect Block matter more
Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade adds Counter Attack and Perfect Block patterns to the newly added Guardians. Successfully landing certain counters or Perfect Blocks reduces the Guardian’s Stagger gauge by an additional amount, turning defensive timing into a direct contribution toward creating damage opportunities.
That reward makes it worth learning the telegraphs even if your class can survive by simply dodging. A successful block or counter is no longer only about avoiding damage; it can help the whole group reach a stagger window faster. Classes with reliable counters should keep those skills accessible rather than optimising a preset as if the new patterns did not exist.
Legacy achievements and adjusted mechanics
Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade also pushes several old advanced achievements into the Legacy category after threatening patterns were removed or softened. The list includes achievements tied to Hanumatan and Kungelanium, while the Hanumatan achievement objective is updated from destroying gauntlets to destroying light armor on the feet.
The broader message is that the returning Guardians have been deliberately adapted for the current activity. Use older encounter knowledge as a head start, but let the live Shade mechanics take priority. The September version is designed around the new counter, Perfect Block and weekly-rotation structure rather than preserving every historical detail for nostalgia’s sake.
The update also moves some older advanced Guardian achievements into Legacy after mechanics were eased or removed. That protects historical completion while acknowledging that the current versions no longer ask players to perform exactly the same challenge conditions. It also helps separate historical achievement requirements from the mechanics players actually face in the September rotation.
The new weekly pool gives Lost Ark Guardian’s Shade more variety without demanding that every old Guardian return with all of its original rough edges intact. The September 16 live version is the baseline here, so older pre-patch routes or numbers should be checked against the current in-game interface before spending materials or locking an account-limited choice.
