Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is the new Royal Navy melee weapon added with Tidal Strike, and it is earned by completing the entire Deep Six Collection Event. The event runs from September 15 to October 12 across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.
Unlike a standard weapon assignment, the knife is the collection’s finish-line reward. That means your progress comes from the wider Deep Six structure of contracts and Intel Devices rather than one standalone melee challenge.
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife unlock requirement

Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is awarded for full Deep Six completion. EA uses the phrase “ultimate reward” in both the event guide and patch notes, which is the clearest possible signal that the weapon belongs at the end of the event track.
If you open Deep Six and still have uncompleted collection steps, keep progressing the event rather than looking for a hidden weapon challenge elsewhere. Update 1.4.3.0 ties the knife directly to completing the full Collection Event.
What the Royal Navy blade is
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is based on a Royal Navy diving knife, with a heavy maritime design and partially serrated blade shown in EA’s official artwork. In gameplay terms it fills the melee weapon slot; EA has not described a special damage model or unique mechanical bonus in the launch notes.
That makes the reward primarily about owning a new melee option and event trophy rather than chasing a confirmed competitive advantage. If later balance notes change its behaviour, those changes would be separate from the Deep Six unlock requirement.
How Deep Six progress feeds the unlock
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife progress is made by completing contracts and gathering Intel Devices. Both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC count toward the Collection Event, so you can mix modes instead of grinding a single playlist from September to October.
EA recommends completing contracts regularly, working with a squad and varying playlists to find more event opportunities. Our Deep Six contracts guide goes into that progression loop without pretending there is a secret one-match shortcut.
Can free-trial players start earning it?
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is available to work toward during the September 15–22 free trial because the trial includes the Deep Six Event Playlist with Contracts. If you are joining through REDSEC, use the same EA Account you plan to keep so the event progress remains attached to your normal profile.
The trial ends before Deep Six does, but REDSEC remains free. That gives trial players a path to keep working on eligible event progress even after the premium Multiplayer access window closes.
The deadline that matters
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is tied to an event ending October 12. EA has not promised a later permanent challenge for it, so October 12 is the date to treat as the guaranteed cutoff for earning the weapon through Deep Six.
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is therefore simple to understand even if the event has several moving parts: complete the collection, claim the final reward and do it before the Deep Six deadline. If you only want the shortest route, keep your attention on event contracts, Intel Devices and the completion meter rather than unrelated Season 4 progression.
Why the Diver’s Knife takes the full event track
Battlefield 6 Diver’s Knife is not presented by EA as an early participation reward. The update notes call the Royal Navy Dive Knife the ultimate reward for players who complete the full Deep Six Collection Event, which means the important target is the collection as a whole rather than one isolated contract. Deep Six runs across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC and advances through contracts and Intel Devices.
That makes the cleanest approach a steady one. Check the event page before choosing a playlist, work on the active contract requirements while collecting Intel Devices, and keep an eye on the collection total rather than assuming a single good match has finished the unlock. Deep Six runs until October 12, giving the knife a longer earning window than a one-week challenge would have.
