Cyberpunk 2077 Update Patch 1.6 Edgerunner

Last Updated on: 8th September 2022, 01:55 am

A week before the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix on September 13, CD Projekt Red released the patch 1.6 updates for Cyberpunk 2077.

After mixed reviews of the much anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, after it was released, the game is getting one of its biggest updates yet. CD Projekt Red recently unveiled the patch 1.6 update to their fanbase through a tweet from the official Twitter account of Cyberpunk 2077.

According to the game developers, this update focuses on fixing reported bugs and glitches, improvements in the overall gameplay, and new content inspired by the upcoming Netflix anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. This includes new DLC, new wardrobes, and new weapons.

Players navigating the Night City will also be immersed in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners contents like the new Photo Mode features, new equipment, and a new mini-game when using the arcade machines. Those planning to switch from console to PC will also be pleased with their new Cross-progression feature update. However, there’s a catch.

Patch 1.6: Cross-progression, Roach Race, and additional content

The patch 1.6 update will now fully use cloud gaming by letting players continue their gaming experience from their latest saves automatically uploaded to the cloud. This new feature will carry any saved game progress; quick, auto, and manually saved files. This feature becomes available as soon as you log in to your account.

Those affected by regional game restrictions must read the Cross-progression restrictions. Regional restrictions affect Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Japanese SKUs. This will also restrict transfers from a PC to a console and between consoles.

A new mini-game has been added for those who have been fans of the mini-games found in arcade machines in the Night City. Roach Race will now be available in the Northside, Japantown, and The Glen apartments. This means more rewards and special prizes like cash and items will be given to those who can crush the leaderboard. Roach Race also has a mobile version for both Android and iOS. This is independent of your progress in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077: Perks, quests, UI and visual updates in patch 1.6

The update is also bringing players multiple fixes, particularly in looting. For example, reports of not being able to pick up loot from drones or loot if it was completely or partially obstructed by foliage collision have been fixed. It also has fixes for NPC reactions and animations. It also includes modifications and updates on V, from continuously fidgeting to face and body modification options.

There has also been the addition of new perks. New poison perks – Corrosive Poison and Critical Antidote (Ninjutsu skill tree) were added to replace Hasten the Inevitable and Neurotoxin perks, respectively. There is also the addition of bonus damage for the rebalanced Long Shot perk.

Although limited to more recent consoles, more secrets were added for players to unravel in the Night City. There are also multiple fixes in different gigs in the open world. New loot is also available in the open world, like the Lightweight Hardened-Rubber Media Steel-Toes (Media Set shoes) and the Polycarbonate Nanoweave Techie Harness (outer torso piece from the Techie Set).

Perhaps one of the best parts of this update is the improvements in the game’s User Interface. Players can now see a preview of the item on V before purchasing it. In case you prefer, players can now switch off radio subtitles in the Sound category in Settings.

Players will also need to start getting used to the minor changes in the Game Settings after rearranging some options and categories. This also includes changes in the Inventory and Vendor screens. There are also minor updates in the Character Creation, Crafting, and Messages menus.

There are also PC-specific and console-specific updates. These updates include changes in the game’s FPS, from first-person to a third-person perspective, and other graphic settings. If you are playing a modded version of the game, there are also updates in the mod parameters of the game.
