Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards changed with the October 8, 2026 launch of Nitemare Island: Kado’s Curse. The new Ranked season reset player ranks and introduced Elite Kado Thorne-themed cosmetics, including a special Axe of Unreal for players who reach the highest division.
The old Springfield rewards aren’t the current set anymore. There are also new Map Mastery cosmetics, a Victory Umbrella and Ranked Cup prizes, all with different requirements. Here’s how to tell those rewards apart and work towards the ones you actually want.
October 2026 Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards
Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards were reset when Kado’s Curse launched on 8 October 2026. Epic confirms that the Elite Kado Thorne-themed cosmetics unlock at specific Ranked tiers, but its announcement doesn’t list every item beside its rank. The Fortnite Wiki’s Season 11 reward record identifies the six milestones below. These are the October Reload rewards, not the earlier Springfield or Battle Royale Ranked rewards.

The Unreal Revenant Pickaxe is the Unreal-rank reward on the current track. The Axe of Unreal name also appears in Epic’s broader promotional wording, so use the current in-game Reload Ranked reward panel to distinguish the item rather than assuming two separate Pickaxes are guaranteed. Bronze and Silver do not have named cosmetic milestones in the reported track.

How to unlock Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards
Select Ranked Reload in Discover, then play matches to climb the ladder. Your performance determines how quickly you progress, so eliminations, placement and surviving with your team matter. Check the results screen after each match to see how your rank changed.
Reload uses its own Ranked ladder, so a high rank in Battle Royale or Zero Build Battle Royale doesn’t automatically unlock an October Reload reward. Stay in the correct playlist when you’re working towards these cosmetics.
Do Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards require Unreal rank?
Not all of them. But the Axe of Unreal does require Unreal, so you’ll need to climb through the current Ranked divisions rather than simply finish some quests. Other seasonal Ranked cosmetics are available at different progression milestones.
If Unreal seems out of reach, there are still free prizes worth chasing elsewhere in Reload. The Driver of Darkness Pickaxe comes from completing Map Mastery quests, not hitting a particular rank.
How to get the Elite Kado Thorne Outfit
Epic says the Elite Kado Thorne Outfit can be earned early through Reload Ranked Cups. Those are competitive events with their own eligibility and placement requirements. Check the Compete tab for the available regional tournaments and the prize thresholds.
Simply reaching Elite rank doesn’t mean you have won a Ranked Cup prize. The Cup Outfit route is separate from the ordinary Ranked progression track. Check the specific reward description before deciding which event to enter.
Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards versus Ranked Cup cosmetics
Playing Ranked Reload to climb to Gold, Diamond or Unreal is different from entering a Ranked Cup through Compete. The Bladed Eclipse Brella Reloaded style is a cup-placement prize rather than the ordinary Reload Victory Umbrella. The Crowned Override Brella is a separate Battle Royale or Zero Build Ranked Cup reward, and Epic says Reload Ranked Cups do not award that style. Check which umbrella your cup offers before entering.
Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards versus Map Mastery
Map Mastery is a separate quest track across Nitemare Island, Stranger Things and Surf City. It has six rewards: Kado’s Ambush Spray, Fanged Nitemare Emoticon, Nitemare Elite Spray, Batty Heart Emoticon, Dungeon Dweller Wrap and the Driver of Darkness Pickaxe for finishing 12 quests.
These challenges are about objectives such as eliminations, Top 5 finishes and Victory Royales on specific maps. You can earn the Map Mastery cosmetics without reaching Unreal rank. If you want Driver of Darkness, head to the Quests tab rather than the Ranked rewards screen.
How to get the Kado Thorne Victory Umbrella
Win a match of Ranked or Unranked Reload to earn this season’s Kado Thorne Victory Umbrella. Unlike the Axe of Unreal, this reward doesn’t require you to reach the top division, and unlike Driver of Darkness it doesn’t require you to complete all 12 map challenges.
Make sure you’re playing official Reload, not ordinary Battle Royale. A Victory Royale in another mode won’t fulfil the same announced Reload umbrella condition.
Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards after the October reset
Epic reset Reload Ranked on October 8. If you were higher-ranked in Springfield, you’ll need to work back up the visible ladder. Fortnite’s previously introduced skill-rating carryover can still help matchmaking after resets, but that doesn’t preserve your old visible rank.
Reload’s map rotation changed at the same time. Nitemare Island currently appears alongside Stranger Things and Surf City, with Squid Grounds set to replace Surf City from October 15. The Squid Grounds featured weekend doesn’t itself mean another Ranked reset has been announced.
Tips for earning Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards
Play with teammates you can communicate with and don’t risk your whole squad on an unnecessary early fight. Reload can reboot eliminated players while the team survives, but a full wipe ends the match. Staying alive for later circles often gives you more chances to make an impact.
Learn the rotating maps, too. Nitemare Island’s Hunt modifier and Siphon weapons change how some fights develop, and other islands have different routes. If you’re unfamiliar with a map, a few Unranked games can help you avoid costly Ranked mistakes.
When do Fortnite Reload Ranked Rewards end?
Epic hasn’t confirmed an exact date for the next Ranked reset in the October 8 announcement. Check the current Ranked panel for a season countdown rather than assuming the October 15 to 19 Squid Grounds event is the deadline for every cosmetic.
Rewards tied to a season can become unavailable once a new track replaces them, so don’t leave a nearly completed rank milestone until the next reset without checking the date.
