Albion Online Firewing Drake is a mount you raise from a rare Fire Drake Egg, which can drop after defeating Azaryon in the Dragon Sanctuary. You’ll need to take the Egg to a Kennel and feed the developing Drake other mounts. Finding an Egg is just the beginning, not an instant unlock.
Its special glide keeps going when the mount takes damage, and roots or slows won’t stop it. Stuns do interrupt the glide, however. That difference is worth knowing before riding your Drake into dangerous territory.
Albion Online Firewing Drake: where to get a Fire Drake Egg
To get an Egg, defeat Azaryon in the Dragon Sanctuary. It’s a PvE raid for up to 20 players and requires a Spirit Waystone to create a party-only entrance. Find a Waystone in the Ancient Lands, craft one from fragments or buy one from another player.
You’ll need to get through the Ashborn enemies and defeat Maeve, the Unfettered Oracle, before meeting Azaryon. Defeating the Fire Dragon gives you a chance at an Egg. One kill doesn’t guarantee the drop.
If you’re after a Drake Egg, the Sanctuary tier matters. Patch 4 on 2 November increased the overall Egg drop rate but moved much of the benefit towards Tier 8. Your best target is the hardest version your group can clear reliably without spending more on failed attempts than you can afford.
Albion Online Firewing Drake Egg drop rate changes
| Sanctuary tier | November 2 Firewing Drake Egg adjustment |
|---|---|
| Tier 6 | Drop chance reduced by about 66% |
| Tier 7 | Approximately unchanged |
| Tier 8 | Drop chance increased by about 300% |
| All tiers combined | Overall Egg chance increased by approximately 40% |
The table shows relative changes to the old rates. A 300% increase means a Tier 8 Egg is more likely than before, not that an Egg is guaranteed. The adjustment only affects Eggs; other Sanctuary loot was not changed by this part of Patch 4.

How to raise the Albion Online Firewing Drake mount
Take the Fire Drake Egg to a Kennel and begin raising it. Unlike an ordinary mount, it needs to be fed other mounts. The Egg won’t turn into a rideable Firewing Drake as soon as you acquire it.
Check the feeding requirements in the Kennel before handing over any valuable mounts. The publisher’s general preview doesn’t give a fixed feeder-mount count or growth time for every situation, so check the live interface rather than following a guessed schedule.
Raising an Albion Online Firewing Drake costs more than finding the Egg. You’ll also need mounts to feed it. If you’re buying those rather than using spare ones, factor that extra cost into whether you want to raise or sell the Egg.
Firewing Drake glide, speed and fire breath
The Firewing Drake glides rather than using a normal gallop. While gliding it ignores roots and slows, and damage does not stop the movement. A stun can still interrupt it, so this is not immunity to every kind of crowd control.
The Drake also resists forced-movement effects and can breathe fire that damages enemies along its path over time. Its combination of glide and fire breath gives it uses beyond simply getting around the map, although a well-timed stun can still stop its movement.

Fire Drake Egg or Drake Biscuits: which should you choose?
A Drake Egg can also be cooked into Drake Biscuits. Those provide bonuses to combat and gathering Fame for 25 hours. That’s a temporary benefit, compared with raising a permanent mount.
If your goal is the Albion Online Firewing Drake, keep the Egg for your Kennel. If you prefer the Fame bonus, check the biscuit recipe and its current values before using such a rare ingredient.
What else should you know before farming Eggs?
Defeating Azaryon also gives successful players Lingering Dragon Spirit for one week, making further Dragon Sanctuary victories harder. That matters if you intend to repeat the raid across several days. The difficulty of the dungeon and this effect are part of the cost of pursuing multiple Egg chances.
The mount isn’t made from Dragonslayer armour materials. A Spirit Waystone opens the Sanctuary, an Egg becomes a mount or biscuits, and Fire Dragon Scales and artifacts are used for armour. Keep those drops separate when buying and selling.
Patch 4 also introduced the Ride a Firewing Drake Albion Journal mission. It gives you a reason to use the mount once you have it, but doesn’t award an Egg just for completing the mission.
