Warzone Massive Resurgence brings Resurgence redeploys to Hajin, the new large-scale Battle Royale map, with up to 120 players. It combines the space and moving gas of a big-map match with a countdown system that can get eliminated teammates back into the fight.
Warzone Massive Resurgence is part of the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 launch on 6 November 2026. The difference from Battle Royale is in how teammates return. There is also an enemy-squad marking system to watch for after eliminations.
Warzone Massive Resurgence player count and map
The maximum player count is 120, and every match takes place on Hajin. That is 120 players in the lobby, not 120 squads. Hajin is a much larger area than the compact Zodiac map used by the regular Resurgence playlists at launch.
The new map spans urban districts, farmland and mountainous terrain along the Korean Peninsula. Activision says players can move through densely built streets, open fields, winding rivers and forested areas. Those changes in terrain mean fights can develop at very different ranges within the same match.
Warzone Massive Resurgence uses the Hajin Battle Royale setting, not the DMZ version of the map without changes. Activision has confirmed that the Battle Royale version differs in loot placement, vehicles, interactive objects and the way the Edge Circle and gas behave. So a route that works in DMZ should not automatically be treated as a Battle Royale strategy.

How the Resurgence countdown brings teammates back
Warzone Massive Resurgence uses a Resurgence countdown. As long as eligible teammates are keeping the squad in the fight, eliminated allies can return when their countdown is completed. Activision also says players can earn points to shorten the countdown.
This makes surviving teammates particularly important. If you are the one still standing, staying alive gives eliminated teammates the chance to redeploy. Charging into every fight without checking who is left alive can throw away that opportunity.
Unlike the classic Battle Royale Gulag model, the countdown is the defining return mechanic here. Activision has not published a complete countdown table or every late-match redeployment condition. The confirmed rule is that the timer allows teammates to return while their squad remains in the fight.
Enemy-squad markers and your next fight
One useful Warzone Massive Resurgence rule is that an enemy squad gets marked after you eliminate one of its players. Activision calls this the Wipe Out feature and specifically tells players to watch their map after an elimination.
After securing an elimination, check the map. The marker points you towards the rest of that player’s squad, helping you decide whether to push or recover. You can decide whether to push, hold your position or move into cover before the remaining players respond.
Keep in mind that seeing a marker does not mean you know an opponent’s loadout, health or exact next movement. It is information to help you make a decision, not a guarantee that the next fight will be easy.
Does Warzone Massive Resurgence have a gas circle?
Yes. Massive Resurgence has a closing gas circle, unlike Rally Point on Zodiac, which has no closing circle at all. The objective in Warzone Massive Resurgence is to survive the shrinking playable area, eliminate opposing squads and become the last team alive.
That means your movement decisions matter just as much as your gunfights. In open areas of Hajin, leave enough time to cross exposed ground before the gas reaches you. In built-up districts, check for alternate routes and safe cover so a team holding a building does not trap your squad against the edge.
Activision’s official roadmap confirms the general rules, but it does not give every circle duration or late-match respawn cutoff for this playlist. Those fine details belong in a verified live-mode guide rather than an invented pre-launch table.
What gear and systems are available?
Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 brings new equipment and field upgrades across Warzone. The Redeploy Drone and Redeploy Drone Beacon are specifically listed for Hajin Massive Resurgence and Rally Point, giving squads additional movement and redeployment tools.
Ground Ops also add points of interest around the broader Warzone experience, including high-value safes, surveillance towers, cargo drones and radioactive barrels located with a Geiger counter. Whether any particular activity appears during an individual match depends on the active rules and placement, so avoid treating every listed system as a guaranteed spawn.
Warzone Massive Resurgence puts you on Hajin with repeated chances to fight, so it can help you learn the map’s roads, rivers and urban districts. Spending time learning roads, rivers, building entrances and safe rotations helps regardless of which big-map playlist you choose later.
Warzone Massive Resurgence vs Loaded Resurgence
The other new Resurgence variant is Loaded Resurgence. That playlist takes place on Zodiac or Rebirth Island with up to 44 players, and everybody enters with their chosen loadout. Players can also earn perks through eliminations until they reach Specialist.
Warzone Massive Resurgence has a much larger maximum lobby on Hajin and focuses on survival, eliminations, countdowns and the closing gas. Loaded is the choice for immediate loadout fights on smaller maps. Rally Point is a separate 20-player, no-circle learning space.
Neither name should be used as a synonym for the others. If you want a 120-player match on Hajin with Resurgence returns, this is the specific playlist to look for when Season 1 goes live.
Warzone Massive Resurgence launch time worldwide
Warzone Season 1 launches at midnight Eastern on Friday 6 November 2026, equivalent to 5:00 am GMT in the UK, 6:00 am CET, 2:00 pm JST and 4:00 pm AEDT. Pacific players get the update at 9:00 pm PST on Thursday 5 November.
Activision lists Warzone Massive Resurgence as a launch limited-time mode. Its later playlist availability will depend on rotation announcements, so the launch date should not be read as a permanent promise for every week of the season.
