Warzone Grabber Drone: Loot, Fuel Barrels and Downed Teammates

Warzone Grabber Drone is a new remotely controlled Field Upgrade for Season 1 that can lift loot, movable objects and even downed teammates. Instead of sending an Operator into a dangerous spot to collect something, the drone lets your squad attempt the job from a distance.

Activision has outlined several specific uses, including collecting items from Buy Stations and moving explosive fuel barrels. Its battery life is limited, though, so the equipment is about making the right pickup rather than flying around indefinitely.

What can the Warzone Grabber Drone pick up?

The Grabber Drone has a retractable claw capable of lifting items and other Operators. Activision’s Season 1 announcement specifically confirms loot, weapons that are difficult to reach, items from Buy Stations, movable environmental objects and downed allies. The drone can also carry the new fuel barrels found in the environment.

That is a much wider set of interactions than a basic Recon Drone. Recon equipment is designed to spot and mark enemies. This new device physically carries objects or an injured squadmate from one place to another.

A recovered weapon or another useful item can be brought closer to the team. Equally, a fuel barrel can be moved to a position where its explosion would matter. Activision describes barrels that players can position and detonate when opponents approach.

Can the Warzone Grabber Drone revive a teammate?

The Warzone Grabber Drone can lift a downed teammate and bring them nearer to a friendly Operator for a revive. That can help when the injured player is in an exposed place or when the squad cannot easily reach them on foot.

The drone brings the injured player closer, but it does not perform the revive. A teammate still needs to pick them up. Separately, Season 1 lets players drag downed allies while reviving, which is useful once the drone has delivered them.

Battery life is limited, so it makes sense to fly directly to the teammate rather than wasting time circling the area.

How does the Warzone Grabber Drone work with fuel barrels?

Season 1 adds movable fuel barrels among several interactive objects. A Warzone Grabber Drone can carry a barrel, allowing it to be repositioned before the object is detonated. That opens up ways to place an explosive hazard somewhere an opponent might not expect one.

Fuel barrels are specifically confirmed as drone cargo. Other new objects, including dumpsters and concrete cylinders, can be pushed or pulled on the ground; Activision has not said the claw can lift every one of them.

Can it collect Buy Station purchases?

Yes. Retrieving Buy Station loot is an expressly confirmed use of the Grabber Drone. That gives your team an option to recover useful equipment without always moving an Operator through the same exposed route.

That means fetching Buy Station items, not necessarily buying them remotely. Activision describes retrieval, not a separate shopping menu for the drone.

Where to find and use the Warzone Grabber Drone

The Warzone Grabber Drone is listed as a new Field Upgrade, rather than a standard pre-match perk or Gunsmith attachment. Activision says Field Upgrades can be found as scavenged loot or bought from Buy Stations during a match. It calls this drone rare but does not provide a guaranteed loot location, price, maximum carrying weight or exact flight range.

Find somewhere sensible to operate it before taking control. The battery limits how much you can do in one trip, and your Operator still needs protecting while you fly.

Grabber Drone release date

Warzone Grabber Drone launches with Season 1 on Friday 6 November 2026 at 05:00 GMT, midnight Eastern, 06:00 CET, 14:00 JST and 16:00 AEDT. The equivalent Pacific time is 21:00 on Thursday 5 November.

The Zipline Launcher moves players between positions. The Grabber Drone handles retrieval jobs: weapons, Buy Station loot, environmental objects and injured allies.
