Warzone Zipline Launcher is a new Season 1 Field Upgrade that lets players create their own ziplines between surfaces, opening up routes that fixed map ziplines cannot cover. Activision has confirmed how to deploy one, who can use it, and what happens to the line after it is placed.
There is one catch: the line is not private. Other squads can ride it, too. A shortcut to a rooftop could just as easily become a way for enemies to reach your position.
How to use the Warzone Zipline Launcher
To use the Warzone Zipline Launcher, aim and fire the Field Upgrade to create anchors and a traversable zipline. Activision describes a system that links surfaces so Operators can climb to higher positions or move horizontally across a gap. The line remains active once deployed until it is retrieved or destroyed.
Choose where the line should run, fire the launcher to create its anchors, then use the zipline to cross or climb. Make sure your squad knows where it leads, especially if the far end is exposed.

Can teammates and enemies use your zipline?
Yes. A Warzone Zipline Launcher creates a shared route, not a private one. Squadmates can use the deployed line to follow you, but enemy Operators are allowed onto it as well. Think carefully about where the far end finishes, especially if your squad is moving onto a rooftop that other players could reach by the same route.
The reverse is true as well. If another squad puts a line down nearby, it may give you a route in, but watch for players travelling along it before committing.
Can you shoot while riding a zipline?
The official roadmap confirms that Operators can use a pistol while travelling along a deployed zipline. That gives players a way to return fire during movement, although the announcement does not claim that all primary weapons can be fired in the same way.
You cannot assume your usual primary weapon will be available while riding. The confirmed option is a pistol, so think about what happens if you are caught halfway across.
How to retrieve or destroy the Warzone Zipline Launcher
A placed Warzone Zipline Launcher stays active until its owner retrieves it or the deployed line is destroyed. That is the confirmed lifecycle of the equipment. It does not disappear automatically at the end of a publicly stated countdown in the announcement.
Once everyone is across, retrieving the line prevents opponents using the same route later. A deployed line can also be destroyed. The launch announcement does not specify its maximum length or durability.
How is it different from fixed map ziplines?
Traditional ziplines are placed in the environment by the map designers. The new Field Upgrade instead allows the player to choose where to create a connection, within whatever placement restrictions the live game ultimately applies. That is its central value: the equipment can turn an otherwise awkward obstacle into a temporary route.
The Warzone Zipline Launcher is a Field Upgrade, not a permanent loadout perk. Activision says Field Upgrades can be found as loot or bought from Buy Stations during a match.
When does the Warzone Zipline Launcher arrive?
The Zipline Launcher arrives with Warzone Season 1 on Friday 6 November 2026, at 05:00 GMT, midnight Eastern, 06:00 CET, 14:00 JST and 16:00 AEDT. West Coast players see the update at 21:00 Pacific on Thursday 5 November.
If you want to move a downed teammate or collect awkward loot, the new Grabber Drone has a different job. For moving the squad itself between positions, the deployable zipline is the tool to look for.
