RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour is coming as part of Jagex’s planned late-November 2026 rebalance. If you already own Trimmed Masterwork, the proposed change is simple: your existing Tier 92 pieces will receive Tier 100 stats automatically when the update launches.
Crafting another set is a different matter. The new upgrade will require 110 Smithing, a specific achievement and extra materials. Those requirements are not live yet, so here’s what existing owners and future smiths should expect.
RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour: existing sets vs new upgrades
| Armour | Current tier | Proposed outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Masterwork | T90 | Stays T90; 99 Smithing requirement stays |
| Trimmed Masterwork already owned | T92 | Automatically gains T100 stats at launch |
| Newly crafted upgraded Masterwork | Starts at T90 | Can be upgraded to T100 using the new route |
If you’ve already got Trimmed Masterwork, there’s nothing to remake. Your current pieces are included in the automatic upgrade. The 110 Smithing requirement only matters when you’re crafting a new upgraded set after the rebalance.

How do you make a new Tier 100 Masterwork set?
Jagex’s proposed upgrade route starts with the regular Tier 90 melee Masterwork set. Once the rebalance is implemented, new upgrades will require the following:
- 110 Smithing, rather than the current 99 Smithing requirement for making regular T90 Masterwork.
- The achievement It Still Should’ve Been Called Aetherium.
- An existing Tier 90 melee Masterwork set to upgrade.
- Melee armour trim and Primed Glorious Bars for the new upgrade.
Jagex has named the materials but hasn’t given a quantity for Primed Glorious Bars. You can prepare the Smithing level and achievement now; leave any exact shopping list until the final recipe is published.
Do current Trimmed Masterwork owners need 110 Smithing?
No, not to receive the automatic stat upgrade. The 110 Smithing requirement belongs to the proposed method for making additional RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour from an existing T90 set. Owners of current trimmed T92 pieces should receive the new stats when the update goes live, without following that crafting process.
That gives RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour owners two straightforward paths: keep the trimmed pieces you already have, or train towards 110 Smithing if you want to make an additional set.
Will regular T90 Masterwork armour change?
Jagex says the normal Tier 90 Masterwork armour and its existing 99 Smithing requirement will stay as they are. The new RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour route adds a higher-level upgrade rather than moving the basic set to 110 Smithing.
The new Tier 100 set can also be custom-fitted and spiked, just like the current trimmed version. That functionality is confirmed in the design preview; exact quantities for the new upgrade materials are not.
When is RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour releasing?
The rebalance is aimed at late November 2026. Jagex had not locked in a particular date in its 30 October design preview and warned that proposed details could change following player feedback. The new upgrade is therefore not available on live worlds as of 2 November.
For now, there’s no need to dismantle existing trimmed gear. If you’re planning to make RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour from T90 instead, 110 Smithing and the Aetherium achievement are the goals to work towards.
RuneScape T100 Masterwork armour: what to prepare before launch
Existing T92 owners should keep their pieces. Players planning to craft from T90 should check their Smithing progress towards 110 and whether the Aetherium achievement is complete. Wait for final patch notes before treating any precise recipe as guaranteed.
The automatic upgrade is the big benefit for current T92 owners. Everyone making a new set will use the higher-level route once Jagex puts the rebalance live.
