You need to interact with actual friendly characters in a Battle Royale match. Wearing an Outfit, collecting a weapon or defeating a boss is not the same as speaking to a crew NPC. Here are the locations reported at launch, plus the simplest route to two conversations.

Those four locations give you several sensible starting points. Check the current map and NPC marker because character positions can change with later updates or mode differences. Loguetown is especially efficient if both Luffy and Usopp are available in the same match.

Fast route: speak to Luffy and Usopp in Loguetown

Start by landing at Loguetown and look for the NPC conversation icons. Approach Luffy, use the interact prompt, then find Usopp and repeat. This is the quickest reported route for the Fortnite Straw Hat Crew NPC locations quest because it can cover two crew members at one named POI.

You do not need to purchase an NPC service to have spoken to the character. The goal is to talk, so look for the dialogue interaction and check the objective counter after each conversation. If an NPC is absent or already surrounded by enemies, retreat and try a different crew location instead of risking the whole match.

Where to find Zoro and Nami if Loguetown is busy

Zoro can be found at Arlong Park, Nami near the beach south of Windmill Village, and Sanji at Busy Bay. They’re useful alternatives when Loguetown is crowded.

How to make the two conversations register

Select the ‘Talk to the Straw Hat Crew’ task in Episode 2 and load a Battle Royale match on Crossbones Isle. Find a named crew NPC, approach them until the interact prompt appears, and start the conversation. Repeat with a different crew member and review the quest counter.

These are crew members to talk to, not bosses you need to defeat. A$AP Rocky’s battleship encounter, for example, is a different activity. Simply spotting Luffy or Usopp from a distance is not a conversation, and wearing their Outfit does nothing to the talk counter.

If progress does not move, confirm you have engaged with a crew NPC rather than a shop skin or unrelated island character. Check the game mode and the Quests tab, and try speaking to another listed crew member. Do not assume an NPC’s hire or Rift menu must be purchased before conversation counts.

Are Straw Hat NPC services free?

Fortnite’s Treasure Hunters v43.00 update has removed ordinary Gold Bars and moved many NPC services away from the old paid system. Launch-day NPC reports describe Rift options at several Straw Hat characters. The Fortnite Straw Hat Crew NPC locations objective is separate from using those services.

Speak to the character for quest progress first. If they offer transportation or another action, decide whether you need it for your match rather than mistaking it for the required interaction. The exact available services may change with future patches.

One Piece quest rewards for talking to two Straw Hats

The Episode 2 conversation objective is listed for 10,000 XP. It is one of eight launch One Piece quests, and each completed objective moves you towards the four free spray rewards after one, three, five and seven completed challenges.

The Fortnite Straw Hat Crew NPC locations are useful for other challenges too: discovering Loguetown, Arlong Park or Windmill Village can contribute to the separate named-locations quest if those places are new to your map.
