The Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest asks you to travel 250 metres using the Gum-Gum Rocket ability from Luffy’s Gum-Gum Fruit. It is a One Piece Episode 1 challenge worth 10,000 XP in the Treasure Hunters season.
The key is choosing the Fruit’s movement ability rather than its attacking move. You do not need to fire a normal rocket launcher, and damage dealt with the Gum-Gum Fruit is not the same as distance travelled. Here is how to find the item and make the tracker count.
How to finish the Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest
First, find a Gum-Gum Fruit on Crossbones Isle. Equip or use the item according to the on-screen prompt, select the Rocket movement action, then travel around the island with it until the objective tracker reaches 250 metres.

The quest is about movement distance. You do not need to eliminate an opponent during a Rocket move or land an attack at the end of it. Check your progress after travelling to make sure the game is counting the correct ability.
Where to find the Gum-Gum Fruit
Epic’s Treasure Hunters announcement confirms that Luffy’s Gum-Gum Fruit can be used on the new island. Launch-day reporting points to the Fruit appearing as loot around Crossbones Isle, including random ground pickups, rather than a fixed guaranteed spawn.
Start by checking the loot in and around your landing area. If you find nothing, rotate through another cluster of buildings or toward an area where other players have been collecting items. There is no verified permanent ‘Gum-Gum Fruit chest’ in the official season announcement.
A useful way to pursue the Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest is to search naturally while completing other objectives. Rare-item collection and discovering new named locations can be worked on during the same match instead of spending the whole game standing in one spot hoping for a Fruit.
Gum-Gum Rocket versus Gum-Gum Pistol

The Gum-Gum Fruit offers more than one action. Launch reports distinguish Gum-Gum Rocket, the movement option, from Gum-Gum Pistol, a combat attack. Travelling with Rocket is what matters for this specific objective.
When the item is equipped, read the ability name and control displayed in the live Fortnite interface. Exact button bindings differ by platform and personal controller settings, so no universal key press should be assumed. If you only attack with Pistol, your 250-metre travel counter is unlikely to change.
For the Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest, try launching along a safe route with open space ahead. You are trying to cover ground, not win a sword fight. Avoid aiming blindly into enemies or obstacles where a bad landing could cost you the Fruit before you have built up enough distance.
Does the 250 metres have to happen in one use?
The Episode 1 objective is reported as travelling 250 metres in total with the Rocket ability, with progress able to accumulate across attempts. It does not read as a single 250-metre leap requirement. The safest way to confirm your own progress is to look at the on-screen quest counter after each use.
If the Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest tracker does not advance, first make sure you chose Rocket, not Pistol. Then check that the One Piece quest is active in your selected game mode and try another clear movement action. Do not assume a generic movement item, a cannon or a launch pad counts instead.
What do you get for completing the Gum-Gum Rocket challenge?
The objective is worth 10,000 XP and contributes one finished quest towards the crossover’s four free sprays. The spray track unlocks Luffy and Zoro at one completed quest, Nami and Usopp at three, Sanji and Chopper at five and Buggy at seven.
These are four free sprays, not full character Outfits. You do not need to own Luffy’s Item Shop skin to use the Gum-Gum Fruit or finish the challenge, and completing the Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest does not award the skin.
Tips for reaching the distance safely
Carry healing items, clear a safe area before using the move and give yourself room to land. An open route can let you chain several Rocket uses without being forced into combat. Do not leave cover just to chase the number if several other players are already watching the area.
Once the Fortnite Gum-Gum Rocket quest shows 250 metres complete, you can switch back to other Episode objectives. Seven different quests are enough for all four free sprays, so this is a useful one to clear whenever you pick up the Fruit during your ordinary Battle Royale games.
