1. Open Season 9’s Battle Pass. Make sure you’re on the current season’s pass rather than Challenge HQ or a previous Battle Pass Vault.
2. Find the base Grav reward. Look at the free track, not the premium Solstice Herald blueprint. Note the tier you need to reach.
3. Play to level up the pass. Earn Battle Pass progress through eligible matches until you reach that tier. You don’t have to pay to claim a free-tier weapon.
4. Claim and equip it. Once the reward is unlocked, collect it if prompted and find the Grav in the Assault Rifle section of your Loadout.
5. Try it in Gunsmith. Test the standard rifle before settling on attachments. The premium blueprints aren’t needed to build your own loadout.
The free rifle and the paid designs appear in different reward systems. Don’t confuse the Hunger Eternal Draw with the Battle Pass tier that unlocks the standard weapon.

Grav – Solstice Herald is a Premium Battle Pass blueprint. The Legendary Grav – Vitae Devourer appears in the Hunger Eternal Draw, alongside the Samael – The Soul Eater Operator Skin. Both are paid alternatives to the standard weapon’s appearance.
You can use the base COD Mobile Grav Assault Rifle without buying either design. The free-tier unlock is the part that matters if you simply want the gun in your loadout.
Is the COD Mobile Grav Assault Rifle good at long range?
Yes. High bullet velocity and effective damage at distance are the two strengths Activision highlights. That makes the Grav worth trying on maps where you regularly fight across long sightlines.
Aim down sights from cover and practise keeping shots on moving targets. If recoil pulls your aim away, try shorter bursts. Activision hasn’t published the exact damage figures or an attachment setup in its season announcement, so a specific ‘best build’ would need separate testing.
Do you need the Premium Pass or Ground Forces?
No. The base rifle is free. The Premium Pass adds cosmetics such as Solstice Herald, while the Ground Forces subscription adds monthly rewards and a 10% boost to Player and Weapon XP. Neither purchase is an unlock condition for the Grav.
The separate Challenge Pass offers the QXR – Rose Requiem blueprint through Challenge HQ tasks and tokens. That’s another weapon reward, not the route to the COD Mobile Grav Assault Rifle.
Why is the COD Mobile Grav Assault Rifle missing from my pass?
First, check that you’re viewing Season 9’s free Battle Pass track, not a premium blueprint or the Challenge Pass. If you’ve already passed the required tier, check whether you need to claim the reward before looking in Loadout.
If parts of the seasonal interface aren’t loading, check for an outstanding update or content download. The new Download Manager lets you prepare future season files, but installing them doesn’t award Battle Pass progress.
If the Season 9 pass has rotated out, check the current Assault Rifle unlock screen for any replacement method. Activision’s October announcement doesn’t confirm a later unlock challenge, so don’t assume the original free tier is permanently available.
