Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides: How to Use Fairy Team Recommendations and Tutorials

Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides is the new in-game character and team-building help system added in Version 3.3. Open an Agent’s details page and select Agent Guides to see upgrade advice, suitable teammates and, for certain characters, video tutorials. You can also reach these guides through the Function Menu, Compendium and Beginner Guide.

Fairy Team Recommendation offers suggested lineups, explains how teammates work together and lets you apply a chosen squad with one tap. The update also adds optional preparation warnings before some combat challenges. Both features can help you spot missing upgrades before committing materials or starting a difficult fight.

To open Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides, select an Agent and look for the Agent Guides button on their details screen. If you are checking several characters at once, the Function Menu and Compendium also offer entry points. Newer players can access the feature from the Beginner Guide, making it useful before they have memorised every upgrade system.

  1. Open the Agent details page for the character you’re building.
  2. Choose Agent Guides.
  3. Read the upgrade and team recommendations for that Agent.
  4. Open Fairy Team Recommendation to explore available lineups.
  5. If a gameplay tutorial is provided, watch its demonstrations before trying the rotation in combat.

Agent Guides arrived with the October 21, 2026 update. If you’re unsure where to begin, open the Agent you actually want to use, check their suggested teammates, then compare the guide’s upgrade advice with your current equipment and skills.

Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides: Fairy Team Recommendation

Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides includes a feature called Fairy Team Recommendation. HoYoverse describes it as personalised team-building advice: Fairy can recommend a lineup to suit your needs, explain why the composition works, and provide guidance on how to play it. You can then apply one of those presets to your squad with one tap.

Before applying a Fairy preset, read its explanation. Check which character deals the damage, who supports them and whether the suggested team depends on an Anomaly trigger or another combat effect. After applying it, practise the suggested rotation and make sure the Agents you own have the levels and equipment to support it.

Fairy Team Recommendation is labelled a test feature in the Version 3.3 notes. Its lineups are a useful starting point, but you can still change your team for an enemy’s attributes, your available Agents or a difficult boss mechanic.

Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides gameplay tutorials

Some Agents have tutorial videos in Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides that demonstrate their unique combat resources, techniques and gameplay tips. This can help when a character has a special gauge, transformation or unusual attack sequence that is harder to understand from a skill-description screen.

These tutorials are not stated to cover every Agent. If you open the feature and do not see a video for a particular character, it does not mean you have failed to unlock them. Check the written advice instead, and practise the recommended attacks in your usual training content. The announcement gives no complete list of Agents with tutorial videos, so the in-game menu is the quickest way to see the current coverage.

Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides and pre-battle warnings

Version 3.3 also adds a separate challenge-preparation recommendation system alongside Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides. In certain permanent activities, including Notorious Hunt and Expert Challenge, it checks squad size and Agent upgrades. If the game spots a preparation issue, a prompt appears in the bottom-right corner before the challenge.

Select the prompt to see which problems the game considers most urgent and how to address them. Some difficult modes also assess team suitability and provide a shortcut into the relevant guidance, so you can check a proposed lineup before starting the encounter.

The challenge-preparation prompts can be enabled or disabled. If you’re experimenting with a deliberately unusual or smaller team, disabling these notifications stops the repeated reminders without removing Agent Guides from the other menus.

How to use the guides without wasting upgrade resources

Use Zenless Zone Zero Agent Guides to focus on one character at a time. Check their recommended upgrades against the equipment and skills you have already levelled. If a preparation warning appears for a specific challenge, read that separately: it may be about squad size or suitability rather than the Agent’s personal equipment.

For Phoenix, compare Fairy’s proposed teammates against our Phoenix build guide, which explains her Anomaly Mastery target, W-Engines and combat rotation. If you’re deciding whether to pull her, check the Version 3.3 banner dates separately. The new Agent Guides help with building characters, not deciding which banner is currently running.

Our Version 3.3 events, release guide, mech combat, Spooky Trial and special programme recap cover other systems added in the update.
