How to reach it quickly
The optional Treasure Unknown puzzle at Grafton Pawn Shop can reveal the cave and a character-specific keypad code earlier. This is the most useful navigation detail for Where Is Vault 79 in Fallout 76 because region names alone can cover a large part of Appalachia.
After Secrets Revealed, normal access focuses on the Gold Vault operations area and Regs rather than replaying the original raid interior. Discovering the marker is worth doing even if you only need the location once, since Fallout 76 regularly reuses hubs for quests, vendors and public activities.
Common location confusion
The main mistake with Where Is Vault 79 in Fallout 76 is copying somebody else’s Vault 79 keypad number because the puzzle code is randomized per character. Use the named landmark and region above to avoid following an old map label or a similarly named place.
If the location is tied to a quest, the quest marker is often the cleanest final approach. If it is a permanent hub, fast travel after discovery removes most of the navigation problem on future visits.
