Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission is a returning Halloween Tactical Alert built around an unusual sabotage route and a Jack O’Naut boss fight where the arena, not your normal weapons, provides the important damage. The 2026 event is live from October 1 at 11 a.m. ET until November 2 at 11 a.m. ET.
Digital Extremes confirms the return of Jack O’Naut and the current rewards, but it has not published a fresh 2026 walkthrough. The route below uses the documented Hallowed Nightmares mechanics from previous runs, with the live Event markers taking priority if a room or objective count has changed.

Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 1: start Hallowed Nightmares from Navigation
Open Navigation, go to the Event tab and select Hallowed Nightmares. You do not need Mother Tokens and you do not start the alert from Daughter in the Necralisk.
Once you load in, follow the Tactical Alert objective. This is a self-contained mission rather than a bounty chain or open-world activity.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: understand the restrictions
The documented 2018 version disables weapons and Warframe powers, including Focus abilities. Your Warframe is reduced to unarmed strikes using fists and feet.
That means normal build advice is much less important than route knowledge. Do not waste time planning a high-DPS loadout for a mission that historically removes those tools.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 2: follow the yellow objective bars
Watch the minimap for yellow objective bars. Those markers lead you toward the locked-door section and are much more useful than searching every side room.
The archived Hallowed Nightmares route places two consoles on the same tile. Use the marked console interaction to create the power core required to open the way forward.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 3: pick up the power core
Collect the power core once the console interaction produces it. This is the progression item you need for the locked route.
Older runs could also scatter additional power cores around the map. If another yellow marker appears, follow it rather than assuming the first core completed every door interaction.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 4: carry the core to the locked door
Take the power core to the marked door and install it. Once the door is powered, the route into the later part of the mission opens.
You can ignore most optional Infested on the way. With normal weapons and powers restricted, clearing rooms is slower and usually does nothing to advance the alert.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 5: enter the Jack O’Naut arena
Continue along the objective route until you reach the large boss tile. Jack O’Naut looks like a Juggernaut with a huge jack-o’-lantern head.
Before attacking, look around the arena for stacks of explosive pumpkins. Those objects are the important part of the fight.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 6: detonate a pumpkin stack
Destroy one of the pumpkin stacks to create an explosion and a patch of fire on the ground.
Jack O’Naut can be damaged by standing in that fire. Your unarmed attacks are not the intended way to remove his health bar.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 7: bait Jack O’Naut into the fire
Get Jack O’Naut to follow or charge toward you, position the explosive between you and the boss, then move clear before it detonates.
Archived walkthrough information notes that baiting his charge directly into the explosive can deal especially strong damage because the blast and fire appear right under him.
Warframe Hallowed Nightmares mission: Step 8: repeat with the next explosive
Move to another pumpkin stack and repeat the same setup. Pull Jack O’Naut into the blast or lingering fire and keep cycling around the arena until his health is gone.
If you mistime a barrel and he is outside the fire radius, simply reset your position and use another stack. Trying to make up the lost damage by punching him is inefficient.
Step 9: extract
Once Jack O’Naut dies, follow the extraction marker and finish the Tactical Alert.
Digital Extremes confirms the 2026 reward set as Jack O’Naut Keychain Sugatra, Jack O’Naut Recall Glyph, Noggle Statue – Manic and 50,000 Credits.
Common mistakes that make Jack O’Naut harder
- Trying to damage him like a normal boss instead of using the pumpkin fire.
- Detonating a pumpkin stack while Jack O’Naut is outside the blast radius.
- Standing beside the explosive when the boss charges in and trapping yourself in the same danger zone.
- Ignoring yellow objective markers earlier in the mission and wasting time fighting Infested while unarmed.
- Going to Daughter for the Tactical Alert reward set. Daughter’s Mother Token shop is a separate Halloween activity.
What may be different in 2026
The console, power-core, locked-door and pumpkin-fire sequence comes from the documented Hallowed Nightmares mission used before its eight-year absence. Digital Extremes has confirmed that Jack O’Naut and the Tactical Alert are back, but the announcement does not state that every tile or objective count is identical.
Use this route to understand what each mechanic is asking you to do, then obey the live yellow markers if a console or core appears somewhere slightly different. The essential boss lesson is the same: the pumpkin explosions create the fire that damages Jack O’Naut.
