To unlock Tree of Dreams in Genshin Impact, you need to follow the permanent progression that controls Tree of Dreams. The Tree of Dreams is unlocked by Trees and Dreams, a short World Quest received after completing The World of Aranara. The tree sits inside a cave north of Vanarana and accepts Dendro Sigils for permanent reward levels.
This guide focuses on the part that usually stops players around Tree of Dreams in Sumeru: the prerequisite, entrance, puzzle or quest flag that the map itself does not explain clearly. It also covers what to check if the expected Tree of Dreams interaction is still missing after you reach the right place.

The most reliable way to unlock Tree of Dreams in Genshin Impact is to clear the prerequisites first and then follow the local route in order. Before travelling across Sumeru for Tree of Dreams, check these conditions so you do not arrive at a locked door, empty cave or inactive mechanism.
- Progress Aranyaka through The World of Aranara.
- Finish that quest so Trees and Dreams appears automatically.
- Follow the new marker north of Vanarana into the cave.
Step-by-step route
- Complete The World of Aranara and check the Quest menu for Trees and Dreams.
- Travel to the marked cave north of Vanarana.
- Follow the path past the Aranara near the entrance.
- Interact with the Tree of Dreams to finish the unlock quest.
- Return later with Dendro Sigils earned from Sumeru exploration to raise Vanarana’s Favor.
Players who want to unlock Tree of Dreams in Genshin Impact should keep the active quest or exploration objective tracked while moving between these steps. Around Tree of Dreams, vertical map layers, hidden cave entrances and state-based mechanics can matter more than horizontal distance, so check the map layer as well as the marker.
The tree is not marked properly on the map until you have visited it.
Its appearance changes in Vanarana’s dream state, but the offering function remains the same.
Why it can still look locked or incomplete
If Trees and Dreams has not appeared, The World of Aranara is the key prerequisite. Simply discovering Vanarana or the cave early does not activate the offering system.
If you still cannot unlock Tree of Dreams in Genshin Impact, compare your current objective with the prerequisite list before restarting the game. For Tree of Dreams, a missing quest flag is not fixed by repeating the final puzzle, and a hidden entrance will not appear just because the destination icon is visible.
Useful details before you leave the area
Dendro Sigils come mainly from Sumeru exploration, chests and one-time content rather than a daily currency farm.
Once you unlock Tree of Dreams in Genshin Impact, activate the nearest Teleport Waypoint, domain marker or permanent shortcut before moving on. That turns later material farming, quest cleanup and collectible hunting around Tree of Dreams into a short return instead of a repeat of the full unlock route.
Common questions
