Unique Weapons Can Be Modified far more broadly after The Slasher because Bethesda opened Legendary Mod changes and fourth-star support to the game’s named weapons.

The safest rule is to check the workbench on the actual item, but Bethesda’s September 15 table gives a strong live list of weapons built for the new unique-item system.

Which Unique Weapons Can Be Modified?

Bethesda says Unique Weapons Can Be Modified across a pool of more than 80 named weapons found and crafted across Appalachia. The published list includes Old Guard, Nailer, Meteoritic Sword, Slug Buster, Final Word, Bunker Buster, Love Tap, Grand Finale, Anchorage Ace, Ticket to Revenge, Super Slasher and many more.

The update also covers uniquely named armour under the same broad crafting feature.

Examples of updated unique effects

Old Guard gains Deflect Chance, Final Word gains Bullet Storm stacks on kills, Slug Buster restores AP on kills, Nuka-Launcher fires Nuka Quantum grenades and Super Slasher deals Bleed Damage.

These effects remain the named identity of the item while the normal Legendary Mods can be changed.

Daily Ops uniques added back into the pool

The patch also places several older Survival-style weapons into the Daily Ops rare reward pool, including Acceptable Overkill, Commander’s Charge, Crushing Blow, Kingfisher, Night Light, Salt of the Earth, The Action Hero, Resolute Veteran and others.

That gives returning players new ways to acquire some named items that are now more interesting because of editable legendary setups.

Can legacy copies behave differently?

Very old or unusual copies can be affected by historical item rules, so do not assume every legacy inventory object behaves identically to a newly dropped version.

Open the workbench modification screen and verify the Legendary Mod options before scrapping a rare copy.

Why the system matters

Unique Weapons Can Be Modified so a named weapon with a fun effect no longer has to be abandoned solely because its old legendary combination does not fit your build. The Slasher crafting change separates the unique identity from the roll more cleanly.

That makes old quest and event rewards worth checking again rather than treating the system as relevant only to the new Super Slasher.

Where to see the full current list

Bethesda’s September 15 release notes contain the current named-weapon effect table. Because future patches can add or rebalance entries, the official live notes are a better reference than an old static list from before The Slasher.

Named armour uses the same broader philosophy

The release notes describe unique weapons and armour together under Unique Item Crafting. Fallout 76 Unique Weapons Can Be Modified is the bigger search topic, but armour collectors should also inspect named pieces that expose the new Legendary Mod interface.

The exact live workbench remains the safest authority for any odd legacy item.

Unique Weapons Can Be Modified without losing their identity

Unique Weapons Can Be Modified because Bethesda has separated the named effect from the editable Legendary Mods on the updated item set. That lets a weapon such as Bunker Buster keep its explosive-radius identity while the player changes the normal legendary configuration.

This is why older quest rewards are worth pulling from storage and inspecting again.

Check each old copy before scrapping it

Unique Weapons Can Be Modified broadly, but long-lived Fallout inventories contain odd historical versions and legacy edge cases. Open the workbench first and confirm what the specific item allows before destroying a rare copy.

Newly earned versions are the cleanest reference for how Bethesda intends the post-Slasher system to work.
