Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact is the Meeting Point requirement that blocks the Version 7.1 World Quest Upstream Variations for many players. Unlocking the cavern itself is only the first step: the Meeting Point must actually be upgraded to Level 2.
To reach Level 2, complete the World Quest Like a Land Where the Tide’s Song Whispers to unlock the Meeting Point, then raise Fellfrost exploration and offer Cryo Sigils until the Level 2 requirement is available.

The route to Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact starts with Like a Land Where the Tide’s Song Whispers. That World Quest unlocks the Tidesong Cavern Meeting Point. After that, Meeting Point levels use exploration progress plus Cryo Sigils rather than character EXP or Adventure Rank.
- Complete Like a Land Where the Tide’s Song Whispers to unlock Tidesong Cavern.
- Raise Fellfrost exploration to at least 10% and offer 30 Cryo Sigils for Meeting Point Level 1.
- Continue exploring Fellfrost until the region reaches 30% exploration progress.
- Offer the next 30 Cryo Sigils to reach Meeting Point Level 2.
- Once Level 2 is active, check the quest list for Upstream Variations if the other prerequisites are complete.
The important number for Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact is 30% Fellfrost exploration. If you have enough Cryo Sigils but the upgrade remains unavailable, the exploration percentage is the first thing to check.
Tidesong Cavern Level 2 requirements
| Meeting Point level | Fellfrost exploration | Cryo Sigils |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 10% | 30 |
| Level 2 | 30% | 30 more |
| Level 3 | 50% | 30 more |
| Level 4 | 70% | 30 more |
| Level 5 | 90% | 30 more |
You only need the Level 2 upgrade for Upstream Variations. There is no requirement to push the Meeting Point to Level 5 before starting the Version 7.1 World Quest.
How to raise Fellfrost exploration quickly
Exploration progress comes from normal regional completion such as quests, chests and collectibles. If you are just below the 30% exploration threshold for Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact, unlocking missed Teleport Waypoints and completing nearby quest content is usually more efficient than wandering the region without a target.
Tidesong Cavern also has its own Meeting Point Chronicle quests, including Small Jack Frost, Big Problem, In the Tranquility of Cycles, Hesperides of Love and Hate, and For an Ice Mirror Fragment. Those quests are useful regional content while you are working through the Meeting Point system.
Where to get Cryo Sigils
Cryo Sigils are earned through Snezhnaya exploration. The Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact upgrade does not require sigils from one exact sub-area, so you can use Cryo Sigils collected elsewhere in Snezhnaya instead of farming only around the cavern.
That flexibility is useful if Fellfrost itself is already at 30% but your sigil balance is short. Keep exploring whichever unlocked Snezhnaya area still has easy chests and objectives, then return to the Meeting Point when you have the next 30.
Why Upstream Variations is still locked
If Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact is already active and Upstream Variations is missing, check the other quest requirements. You must also be Adventure Rank 18 or higher and complete Chapter VII: Act II, Wraith’s Nocturne.
Our Upstream Variations guide covers the seven-day quest and its Vodyanitsa cosmetic reward. For current official notices, check the Genshin Impact website.
What do you get at Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact?
Reaching Tidesong Cavern Level 2 in Genshin Impact is useful even before Upstream Variations begins. The Level 2 reward track includes 50 Primogems, one Acquaint Fate, Adventure EXP and Sanctifying Unction, in addition to satisfying the Version 7.1 World Quest gate.
If the level-up button is still unavailable, check both parts of the requirement on the Meeting Point screen. Having 30 Cryo Sigils is not enough when Fellfrost exploration is below 30%, and reaching 30% exploration does not replace the sigil offering.
