Stellar Blade Raven Boss: How to Survive the Second Phase

Stellar Blade Raven boss is one of the game’s toughest late-story encounters because she fights almost like EVE herself. She strings together rapid sword attacks, sudden movement and coloured warnings that demand different defensive responses. Trying to out-damage her usually ends badly.

You’ll fight Raven during Last Fragment, near the entrance to the Nest. The most useful approach is to learn her full sword strings, rather than hitting back after every little pause. She adds ranged pressure and longer combos in the second phase.

Raven has a two-hit sword string, a three-hit string with a pause before the final swing, and faster aggressive combinations. Perfect-block the normal slashes if you know the timing. Otherwise, block to learn the sequence, then take one or two hits of your own only when she’s finished.

Her blue grab can come in pairs. Use Blink at the correct blue counter window to get behind her, but don’t immediately start a combo: a second grab may follow. If you can’t time Blink consistently, dodge out and let her return to ordinary attacks.

The Stellar Blade Raven boss also uses a yellow unblockable overhead dive. Don’t try a conventional parry. Watch for her actual descent and dodge away as the strike is committed, not simply at the first flash of yellow.

What changes in the Stellar Blade Raven boss second phase?

Around the middle of the fight, a cutscene introduces Raven’s more aggressive second phase. The exact health percentage isn’t important to your response: watch for the scene, then expect projectiles, a floor wave and longer slash strings.

Raven may send out a set of flying slash projectiles. They can come in quick succession with a more delayed final hit. Don’t dodge every projectile with the same rhythm; watch the release timing and save your next movement for the last one.

When she sends a shockwave along the floor, jump over it. She also has a later yellow-cued attack that spreads angled blue lines across the arena before a diving follow-up. Avoid the lines, then watch for Raven herself: the dive is the part that can catch you while you’re distracted.

Blue, yellow and purple attacks from the Stellar Blade Raven boss

The colour matters because not every dangerous move should be treated as a standard sword slash. A blue cue can signal a Blink opportunity. A yellow attack is an unblockable move that you should evade. A later purple cue can be answered with Repulse when properly timed, or avoided with a dodge.

If you have not unlocked or mastered the appropriate advanced counters, keeping your distance is safer than guessing an input. The default PlayStation guide explains Blink, but this article doesn’t claim every platform uses the same buttons for the move.

The Stellar Blade Raven boss fight rewards reading the animation after the colour appears. Pressing dodge the moment you see yellow can leave you recovering when the actual blow arrives.

How to handle Raven’s long sword combo

One of the second-phase patterns has seven slashes: four in quick succession, a pause, two more, then a delayed last hit. If you’re parrying, watch for that final slash before counterattacking. Other four-hit strings can also finish with a yellow unblockable attack.

Use short counterattacks after the real recovery. If Raven counters one of your Beta Skills or knocks EVE to the ground, that is a sign you’re using it during an unsafe window. Save stronger attacks, Burst abilities or Tachy Mode for openings you have actually confirmed.

How to finish the Stellar Blade Raven boss fight

Conserve healing for the second phase and avoid unnecessary damage in the first. When Raven uses ordinary sword attacks, a controlled parry sequence can open her balance for a Retribution follow-up. For projectiles and floor waves, focus on surviving the move before you return to melee range.

The encounter can include a cinematic sword struggle and a final on-screen button prompt. Follow the prompt shown by your version of the game. Don’t memorise a PlayStation face-button instruction if you’re playing with custom PC controls or on Switch 2.

If the Stellar Blade Raven boss keeps overwhelming you, use individual attempts to practise one issue: the double blue grab, the delayed yellow dive or the second-phase projectile sequence. Learning one tells-based response at a time is more effective than changing your entire loadout after every defeat.

Boss Challenge lets you practise the fight again after you have the required campaign battle data. For the basic defence needed to get there, start with the Perfect Block guide and return when you can recognise the difference between a normal parry and Blink.
