Stellar Blade Gigas boss is a huge Naytiba that punishes anyone who tries to stand directly in front of it and trade attacks. Its most recognisable move is a three-hit ground-pound combo, but it also jumps into the air for a smash and can charge a punch that sets off a magma explosion.
You’ll first face Gigas in the Crater at the end of Eidos 7, near a supply camp. Restock and spend any upgrades before approaching the fallen capsule. The fight is more about reading its heavy swings than rushing in for damage.
How to dodge the Stellar Blade Gigas boss three-hit combo

Gigas can use overhead slams singly or in a three-hit string. If it follows the first with another, keep moving until the combo finishes. Dodge around its side, count the impacts and only attack when the arms stop swinging.
If the camera makes it difficult to follow the arms, create a little distance and watch the full animation. That is safer than staying under the boss, where its body can hide the next wind-up. Once you recognise the pattern, you can close in again after the final slam.
The Stellar Blade Gigas boss fight becomes much easier once you stop treating every pause as an opening. There is a difference between the end of one hit and the end of an entire three-hit sequence.
How to avoid the Stellar Blade Gigas boss jumping smash
Gigas can leap and crash back down. Watch for it committing to the jump, then move out of the landing area rather than trying to block the impact from directly underneath. A sideways dodge can put you in a safer position and nearer to its back.
Don’t immediately rush back if the attack leaves an effect on the ground. Make sure the damaging animation has ended. Getting behind Gigas is useful, but it only helps if you aren’t walking through the area the previous attack just covered.
What to do when Stellar Blade Gigas boss triggers magma
The charged wind-up punch is different from the ordinary ground combo. Gigas draws its arm back before releasing an attack associated with a magma explosion. When you see that long preparation, prioritise leaving the threatened area.
The biggest mistake is assuming a dodge is successful because the fist missed EVE. The explosion can create an additional hazard after the immediate blow. Keep moving until the effect has resolved, then look for a safe moment to return.
You don’t need a guessed cooldown or a fixed time interval to recognise the move. Learn the distinct, longer wind-up and save your counterattack for the aftermath rather than trying to interrupt it blindly.

Where to attack the Stellar Blade Gigas boss
After a missed slam, move behind Gigas and strike the backs of its legs. A short sword combo works well here; long attacks can leave EVE stuck in front of the next ground pound. Back off as soon as the boss starts another wind-up.
Short combos are safer than finishing every heavy string. Use quick attacks, then prepare for the next ground pound. If you have Beta Energy, spend it after a missed slam or another obvious recovery window, not while Gigas is charging an explosion.
Should you parry or dodge Stellar Blade Gigas boss?
EVE can Perfect Block normal blockable strikes, and the game’s combat guide explains that these parries reduce enemy balance. Against Gigas, however, dodging around heavy ground impacts is often simpler while you’re learning the fight. You can work on more ambitious counters once you know the tells.
Don’t try to parry every glowing or clearly unblockable attack. If the move is an area blast, leaving the danger zone is the useful response. A successful Perfect Dodge can keep you close enough to take advantage of the recovery.
How to beat Stellar Blade Gigas boss if you are stuck
Use the first attempt to count the three ground pounds without attacking. On the next one, concentrate on the leap and its landing point. When you’ve learned those patterns, you can distinguish the magma wind-up quickly and avoid losing a run to a surprise blast.
Heal after the full slam sequence or when you’ve created enough distance, not during an active combo. There’s another Gigas encounter in the Wasteland during the Urgent Information side mission, while Boss Challenge lets you replay fights after collecting their battle data.
The strategy is the same across platforms: dodge the whole string, punish the recovery and leave before the next slam. Button labels vary between PS5, PC and Switch 2, so use the prompts in your version rather than assuming one controller layout.
