Stellar Blade Abaddon boss is one of the first major fights in Eidos 7. It starts with twin-sword slashes you can parry, then becomes much more dangerous once Abaddon’s weapons are charged with electricity and lightning begins striking the arena.
The first phase is your chance to learn its sword timing. Save your healing for the electric attacks later, and watch for the blue and yellow warnings rather than trying to parry everything.
Where to find the Stellar Blade Abaddon boss

The main Abaddon encounter takes place in the parking garage in Eidos 7, on an upper level reached during the story. It’s an early test of timing and movement, not a fight where you need a specialised late-game build.
There’s also a stronger Abaddon variant in the Great Desert. That later version starts with its electrical abilities active, so don’t expect the same calm opening phase described here.
How to parry Stellar Blade Abaddon boss sword attacks
Abaddon’s ordinary melee swings have readable wind-ups. Watch its arms and blades as it begins a slash, then raise your guard just before impact. With default PS5 controls, L1 blocks and a correctly timed L1 creates a Perfect Block.
A normal block can reduce frontal damage but isn’t completely safe. Perfect Blocks prevent damage from a blockable strike and chip away at the enemy’s balance. Several well-timed parries create better counterattack opportunities than trying to attack through an unfinished combo.
If the Stellar Blade Abaddon boss follows one slash with another, keep defending until the combo ends. It also uses a blue Fatal Attack that you can counter with Blink once you’ve unlocked it. On PS5, move the left stick toward Abaddon and press Circle at the Blink timing cue.

How to survive the Stellar Blade Abaddon boss lightning phase
After you’ve lowered Abaddon’s health significantly, its twin swords become electrified and it begins calling down lightning. You should now divide attacks into two groups: regular sword swings that can be parried, and electrical area attacks that you need to move away from.
When you see the yellow warning and lightning forming, run or dodge sideways out of the danger zone. The yellow electrical sequence can end with a heavy slam, so don’t charge back in after the first flash. Wait until the follow-up has finished.
Don’t rely on an exact phase-change percentage. Watch for the swords lighting up instead. That visual change is the useful sign that the encounter has become more dangerous.
When should you attack the Stellar Blade Abaddon boss?
The best openings come after a completed sword sequence or an electrical move. Parry or evade the final hit, take one or two quick strikes, then get ready to defend again. This is more reliable than swinging until EVE is trapped in a slow animation.
If you have Beta Energy, use a skill during a clear opening rather than immediately when the gauge fills. Beta Skills are strong, but they consume a limited resource and don’t replace learning the boss’s timing.
Why the Stellar Blade Abaddon boss keeps killing you
If you keep losing health in the opening, practise the sword pattern without trying to deal much damage. Once you know the final swing, add a short counter. If you’re having trouble with the blue cue, revisit the Blink lesson at a camp before retrying.
If you’re dying to lightning, change your positioning instead of your damage output. Make space as the attack begins, heal only when Abaddon is recovering, then return for a short counterattack.
Later, Boss Challenge lets you replay Abaddon after you’ve acquired its battle data. It’s a useful way to practise without repeating the entire Eidos 7 route.
Stellar Blade Abaddon boss tips for PS5, PC and Switch 2
This strategy is about recognising attack animations, so it applies across versions. The buttons listed here are PS5 defaults only. Check the on-screen controls on Switch 2 or a customised PC setup rather than assuming the same layout.
When Abaddon is almost defeated, watch for the on-screen execution or button prompt and follow it to complete the encounter. The exact button labels shown on PS5 shouldn’t be assumed for PC or Switch 2. For more help, see the Perfect Block and Boss Challenge guides below.
