Roblox Standalone Apps are coming to mobile, PC and consoles, giving creators a way to distribute individual experiences outside the normal all-in-one Roblox app. Roblox has not yet confirmed a complete storefront-by-storefront list, so PlayStation, Xbox, PC and mobile support should be understood through the broader platform announcement rather than assumed store listings.

Roblox Standalone Apps are part of Roblox Everywhere, the company’s push to let players reach games through more routes while Roblox continues providing the technology and services underneath.

Are Roblox Standalone Apps coming to PlayStation and Xbox?

Roblox says standalone apps are coming to consoles as a platform category.

PlayStation and Xbox are Roblox’s major current console platforms, so they are obvious targets, but Roblox has not yet published a final list of approved standalone storefronts or announced that every eligible game will appear in both console stores.

The company says it will begin testing with selected developers and storefronts.

That means individual PlayStation Store and Xbox Store availability will depend on the rollout, creator choice and platform approval.

How will Roblox Standalone Apps work on PC?

PC is explicitly included in the standalone-app announcement.

A creator will be able to make an individual Roblox experience available as its own app rather than requiring players to launch the central Roblox application first.

Roblox has not confirmed that every PC title will automatically appear on Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG or the Microsoft Store.

Storefront options are still being explored.

Roblox Standalone Apps on PC should therefore be judged game by game once the first distribution tests begin.

What about mobile standalone games?

Mobile is also confirmed.

That opens the door for individual Roblox-powered games to appear as their own mobile apps instead of existing only inside the Roblox mobile client.

The announcement does not yet guarantee specific Apple App Store, Google Play or Samsung Galaxy Store listings for every standalone experience.

Mobile storefront rules and approvals still matter, and Roblox says the early rollout will involve selected developers and storefronts.

Will standalone games still connect to normal Roblox players?

Yes. Roblox says cross-play is on by default, so Roblox Standalone Apps are designed to connect players with friends using the normal Roblox app instead of splitting the community into isolated versions.

Do creators have to build separate versions?

Roblox’s pitch is that the Roblox engine and services continue working underneath standalone apps.

That should reduce the need to rebuild the entire game separately for every platform.

Creators will still need to think about controls, screen size, performance and platform-specific requirements, but the underlying Roblox technology is intended to carry across the distribution model.

Roblox Standalone Apps are therefore closer to new packaging and distribution than starting again with a different engine.

Are standalone apps available right now?

Not as a broad public feature.

Roblox announced the option at RDC 2026 and says creators will soon be able to use it.

The first phase will involve selected developers and storefronts.

There is no public button today that lets every Roblox creator instantly submit an experience as a PlayStation, Xbox, PC and mobile standalone app.

How is this different from the existing Roblox console apps?

Today, PlayStation and Xbox players download Roblox itself and then launch supported experiences from inside it.

Roblox Standalone Apps change that model by allowing a specific experience to have its own app presence.

The existing Roblox application is not being removed.

Instead, creators will gain another distribution option while players can still use the central Roblox app if they prefer browsing many games in one place.

What has Roblox actually confirmed?

Roblox has confirmed standalone apps across mobile, PC and consoles, with Roblox technology and services underneath.

It has also said cross-play is intended to be on by default and that the rollout will begin with selected developers and storefronts.

What is not confirmed is a complete list of individual stores, game names, release dates or pricing rules.

Roblox Standalone Apps are clearly coming, but the safest way to describe PlayStation, Xbox, PC and mobile support today is as a platform-wide direction whose exact storefront details are still being worked out.

Will every platform get the same standalone games?

Not necessarily. Roblox Standalone Apps are announced across mobile, PC and consoles, but each storefront can have its own technical, age-rating and approval requirements.

A creator may therefore support some platforms before others. The important confirmed point is that Roblox is building the distribution system across all three platform groups rather than limiting standalone releases to PC.

As the first tests begin, individual game listings will be the clearest way to see exactly where each standalone release is available.
