Pokémon GO Quick Catch is a long-running fast catch technique that lets you leave an encounter before the normal Poké Ball shake animation finishes. It is not an official toggle in Settings; it works by holding one of the encounter-screen menus while throwing, then using the Back button or exit control after the ball hits.
How Quick Catch works
Start a wild encounter and place one finger on either the Berry tray or Poké Ball tray. Drag that icon slightly toward the center of the screen and keep holding it.
With another finger, throw the Poké Ball normally. After the ball hits the Pokémon, release the finger holding the menu. The menu opens, and the encounter’s exit button becomes available again. Tap it to leave immediately.
That is the basic Pokémon GO Quick Catch motion.

You still need to catch the Pokémon
Pokémon GO Quick Catch does not guarantee success. The game performs the normal catch calculation when the ball lands; the trick only lets you skip waiting for the result animation.
After returning to the map, tap the same Pokémon again. If it disappears or shows an error because it has already been caught, the catch succeeded. If the encounter opens normally, the Pokémon broke free and you can throw again.
Check your recent Pokémon storage when the map behavior is unclear.
The Back button differs by device
On Android, the system Back gesture or button can make Pokémon GO Quick Catch feel especially fast. On iPhone, use the encounter’s on-screen exit control after releasing the held tray.
The exact animation can shift after app updates, but the principle stays the same: keep a menu tray engaged while throwing so the exit control becomes available before the capture animation is finished.
If the tray snaps back too early, start the encounter again and hold it more deliberately.

Why players use Quick Catch
During Community Days, GO Fest, Spotlight Hours and dense event spawns, the standard catch animation becomes one of the biggest time costs in the game.
Pokémon GO Quick Catch lets you move to the next spawn almost immediately, meaning more catches, more Candy, more Stardust and more Shiny checks during a limited event window.
It is also useful when walking quickly through a cluster where Pokémon may despawn before a full animation finishes.
Curveballs and Berries still work
You can use Berries, Great or Ultra Balls, Curveballs and Nice, Great or Excellent accuracy while using Pokémon GO Quick Catch. The technique changes the interface flow, not the underlying catch mechanics.
For difficult Pokémon, use the same Berry and Ball you would normally choose. There is no benefit in saving two seconds only to waste extra balls on repeated breakouts.
The fast catch is most powerful when paired with an already consistent throwing technique.
Incense and special encounters need care
Some encounters behave differently from ordinary map spawns. Incense Pokémon may remain visible on the map after a successful Pokémon GO Quick Catch until the map refreshes, which can make it look as though the catch failed.
Research, raid, reward and special scripted encounters may also use different exit behavior. For important one-off encounters, there is little reason to rush unless you already know the technique behaves correctly there.
Use Quick Catch mainly for ordinary wild grinding.
Does Quick Catch break the game rules?
Pokémon GO Quick Catch uses the normal game client and touch interface; it does not require spoofing, modified software or automation. However, it is an unofficial interaction pattern rather than a feature the game teaches or guarantees.
That means Scopely can change the interface at any time and accidentally or deliberately alter how the trick works. Do not build important plans around the assumption that the exact gesture will exist forever.
Common mistakes
The usual mistake is releasing the Berry or Ball tray before the thrown ball connects. If that happens, the normal interface resumes and the exit button remains unavailable.
Another mistake is assuming every returned map spawn means the catch failed. Check storage or tap the spawn again before wasting another ball.
Once the two-finger motion becomes familiar, Pokémon GO Quick Catch is one of the biggest time-saving habits available to heavy catchers. It does not improve catch probability, but skipping hundreds of animations can create a huge difference over a busy event day.
