Pokémon GO Fusion lets certain Pokémon combine with a compatible partner to create a more powerful fused form. The current system includes Necrozma fusing with Solgaleo or Lunala, and Kyurem fusing with Zekrom or Reshiram. Fusion is different from Mega Evolution because the fused form stays active until you choose to separate it.
Which Pokémon can use Pokémon GO Fusion?
There are four current Pokémon GO Fusion results. Necrozma plus Solgaleo creates Dusk Mane Necrozma. Necrozma plus Lunala creates Dawn Wings Necrozma. Kyurem plus Zekrom creates Black Kyurem, while Kyurem plus Reshiram creates White Kyurem.

How Pokémon GO Fusion works
An eligible base Pokémon shows a Fuse option on its detail page when you have the required resources and partner Pokémon. To use Pokémon GO Fusion, choose the partner you want, review the Energy and Candy cost, then confirm.
The fused form remains fused indefinitely. There is no eight-hour expiry like Mega Evolution, and you can have multiple fused Pokémon at the same time as long as you own the required Pokémon and resources.
Necrozma fusion costs
Dusk Mane Necrozma costs 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy and 30 Cosmog Candy. Dawn Wings Necrozma costs 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy and 30 Cosmog Candy. The partner is Solgaleo for Dusk Mane and Lunala for Dawn Wings.
These Pokémon GO Fusion forms also gain their signature Charged Attacks: Sunsteel Strike for Dusk Mane Necrozma and Moongeist Beam for Dawn Wings Necrozma.
Kyurem fusion costs
Black Kyurem costs 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy and 30 Zekrom Candy. White Kyurem costs 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy and 30 Reshiram Candy.
For the special Kyurem attacks, the Kyurem used for Pokémon GO Fusion needs Glaciate before fusion. When fused with Zekrom, Glaciate becomes Freeze Shock. When fused with Reshiram, it becomes Ice Burn. Separating the Pokémon changes the move back to Glaciate.
Which Pokémon controls the fused form?
The base Pokémon is the important one in Pokémon GO Fusion. Necrozma is the base for its two fusions and Kyurem is the base for its two fusions. That means you should choose the Necrozma or Kyurem you actually want to invest in before spending rare Fusion Energy.
The partner Pokémon is committed to the fusion while it is active and cannot be used independently until you separate them.
Can Shiny Pokémon fuse?
Yes. Shiny Pokémon can take part in Pokémon GO Fusion. The fused result is Shiny when the base Pokémon is Shiny. In other words, the Shiny state of Necrozma or Kyurem is what matters for the resulting fused form.
Can fused Pokémon be traded or transferred?
No. A Pokémon currently in a fused form cannot be traded, transferred to the Professor or sent to Pokémon HOME. Separate it first if you need to access options that are blocked while Pokémon GO Fusion is active.
Can you separate fused Pokémon?
Yes. Open the fused Pokémon and choose Separate. Separation costs no Candy and no Fusion Energy. However, fusing the Pokémon again later requires the full Energy and Candy cost again, because Fusion costs do not get cheaper over time.
Is Fusion permanent?
No, but it has no automatic timer. Pokémon GO Fusion lasts until you manually separate the Pokémon. That makes it much closer to a persistent form change than Mega Evolution or Primal Reversion, while still allowing you to recover both original Pokémon whenever you choose.
What should you check before fusing?
Choose your base Pokémon carefully, make sure you have the correct 1,000 Energy type, confirm the required partner and Candy, and check any move requirement such as Glaciate for Kyurem. Because refusion costs the full amount again, the smartest use of Pokémon GO Fusion is to build the exact form you intend to keep rather than repeatedly separating and rebuilding it.
Fusion also does not occupy the same single-active slot as Mega Evolution. You can keep a fused Pokémon in storage indefinitely and still use the game’s other transformation systems when their normal requirements are met.
