Pokémon GO Dynamax Regidrago arrives in five-star Max Battles on November 12, with a 6–7 PM local-time featured hour. Its Dragon typing gives it familiar weaknesses, but ordinary raid teams aren’t automatically eligible.

Only Max-capable Pokémon can enter, so you’ll need a suitable Max Attack and enough healing or defence to get through the fight. Build your team from eligible Max Pokémon using Regidrago’s Dragon-type weaknesses, rather than picking ordinary raid attackers.

Weaknesses and eligible Max attackers

In Pokémon GO Dynamax Regidrago, the boss is pure Dragon-type and weak to Dragon-, Fairy- and Ice-type attacks. In a Max Battle, however, your attackers must actually be eligible to Dynamax; a strong normal raid counter that cannot enter the Max Battle is not a valid pick.

Check your available Dynamax Pokémon for qualifying Dragon, Fairy or Ice attacks and make sure the Pokémon has the corresponding attacking Fast Move for its Max Attack type. Dragon attackers can deal super-effective damage but can also be exposed to incoming Dragon attacks.

Build around an eligible attacker with a super-effective Max Attack, a teammate or Pokémon to absorb incoming damage, and enough Max Spirit to heal or protect your group. Upgrade Max Moves ahead of November 12 if you have the Candy and Max Particles.

Dynamax Metagross can fill a durable defensive role, although its Steel attacks are not super effective against Dragon. A Max Spirit user such as Dynamax Blissey can heal the team between damaging Max phases. Dynamax Gardevoir with Charm gives you Fairy-type Max Starfall, while Dynamax Glaceon with Frost Breath can use Ice-type Max Hailstorm. Dynamax Duraludon with Dragon Tail offers Max Wyrmwind, but Dragon attackers can take super-effective Dragon damage.

Before Pokémon GO Dynamax Regidrago begins at 6 PM, visit Power Spots and make sure your Max Particle balance and battle team are ready. Coordinate with other Trainers for a five-star battle rather than assuming a low-level solo clear.

Niantic confirms a five-star Dynamax Regidrago Max Battle Hour from 6–7 PM local time on November 12. The shiny form is encounter-eligible, and Regidrago caught during the event knows the Dragon Breath Fast Attack. A successful five-star Max Battle catch can also have the new Into the Wild Special Background.

Dragon, Fairy and Ice attacks are super effective against Regidrago’s pure Dragon typing, but a standard raid counter that cannot Dynamax is ineligible. Choose an actual Max-capable Pokémon with an appropriate attacking Fast Move, upgrade Max Attack and bring Max Guard or Max Spirit support for survivability. The boss’s exact move rotation should be checked during the live November 12 battle rather than copied from a standard Regidrago raid.

Safer attack types and team choices

For Pokémon GO Dynamax Regidrago, Fairy and Ice attacks can exploit the boss’s weakness without using a Dragon Pokémon that may take super-effective Dragon damage. Check eligibility and the attacker’s Fast Move to make sure its Max Attack has the type you’re planning around.

Which Max-capable counters should you use?

Bring an eligible defender to absorb hits while charging Max energy, and use Max Guard and Max Spirit if your group needs protection and healing.
