Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear is a wearable pumpkin you can grow during Halloween Wonder Night. First, open event Blind Boxes for Candy Bait, use it to attract Little Ones and collect their gifts until you find a rare Jack-o’-Lantern Seed.

Plant that seed in your territory, water it and harvest the pumpkin when it matures. You can’t speed it up with ordinary fertiliser, and the harvested headgear only stays in your backpack for three days. The event runs October 22–November 11, with a separate November 18 deadline for unused seeds.

How to get Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear

Start with Halloween Wonder Night tasks, which award Blind Box opening attempts. Boxes give random-flavour candy that you can use as Candy Bait. Put it in your own territory or a Hive squad member’s territory to bring the Little Ones over.

When the visitors leave, collect their Halloween gifts. There’s a chance of finding rare Jack-o’-Lantern Seeds, but not every gift contains one. If you don’t find a seed, use more bait as you earn it from Blind Boxes. NC hasn’t published a flavour that guarantees the seed or its drop rate.

How to plant the pumpkin seed

Take a Jack-o’-Lantern Seed to your territory, plant it in the soil and water it. Once it has matured, harvest the pumpkin to receive the wearable headgear. The seed isn’t a cosmetic you equip straight from your inventory; you have to grow it first.

Candy Bait can be placed in a Hive member’s territory, but the planting instructions specify your own territory. It’s safest to use your own garden for the pumpkin. The official event notice doesn’t state a fixed growth time, so check your crop for when it’s ready to harvest.

Can you speed up Jack-o’-Lantern growth?

No. Ordinary fertiliser can’t accelerate the Jack-o’-Lantern’s growth. Water the seed and allow the crop to mature normally; using your standard fertiliser supplies won’t shorten the wait.

The pumpkin is also inedible. You grow it to wear, not to cook. Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear is a temporary Halloween item rather than a new source of food or a permanent outfit unlock.

Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear expiry dates

Unused Jack-o’-Lantern Seeds are removed after November 18, 2026 at 6 AM server time. That’s one week after Halloween Wonder Night ends on November 11, so you’ve got a little longer to deal with seeds already sitting in your inventory.

After harvesting, the pumpkin can stay in your backpack for three days. Don’t save it indefinitely for a later outfit. If you want to wear Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear, plan the harvest around when you’ll actually use it.

Halloween Pumpkin Seeds versus Jack-o’-Lantern Seeds

The Blind Box collection reward for four Regular Editions plus one Hidden Edition includes an item called Halloween-exclusive Pumpkin Seeds. In the pumpkin-growing instructions, NC calls the rare visitor reward Jack-o’-Lantern Seeds.

NC uses both names without explaining whether they’re interchangeable. Check the item description before planting. The confirmed Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear route uses the rare seed from a Little One’s gift, planted in your own territory.

What if the Little Ones don’t leave a seed?

Little Ones can also leave Starchrom, Halloween Pumpkin Seeds or Halloween Lucky Crates. A Lucky Crate has a chance to contain exclusive Deviations or cosmetics, but getting those other rewards doesn’t necessarily mean the headgear seed was in the same gift.

If you still need the seed, keep opening Blind Boxes and using bait while the event runs. Once you have it, growing Once Human Jack-o’-Lantern Headgear is straightforward: plant the seed, water it and harvest the mature pumpkin. The three-day timer begins after harvest.
