Once Human Ocean Resources: Coral Ore, Pirate Coins and Uses

Once Human Isles of Abyss beachcombing sand holes and coastal materials

Once Human Ocean Resources cover everything from seafood and crafting materials to Pirate Coins and Ambergris. Understanding how those supplies are collected saves time when you need to upgrade a ship, cook a protective meal or trade with the beachcombing merchant.

There are several ways to get materials in Isles of Abyss: direct coastal gathering, processing resources you’ve collected, catching Tide Elves and trading discoveries. The table below uses the sources and purposes described in Starry Studio’s official developer briefing, without inventing fixed drop rates.

Best early Once Human Ocean Resources for crafting and food

Begin with seafood and materials used by facilities. Barnacles, crabs and lobsters contribute to dishes, while oysters can produce several resources when opened. Some finds are useful for both construction and cooking, so look at the item description before selling everything you collect.

Ocean Trash is particularly useful because it can be smelted and processed into plastic. That is an important distinction from items gathered solely to sell to a merchant. If a crafting menu requires processed plastic, collecting trash is only the first step; you still need to complete the relevant processing action.

For Once Human Ocean Resources, prepare for minor shoreline hazards too. Sea urchins can cause puncture wounds, and small creatures around beachcombing holes may pinch or cut the player. Move carefully when gathering ingredients close to the tide rather than treating every coast as harmless.

How Pirate Coins and Ambergris work

Among Once Human Ocean Resources, Pirate Coins and Ambergris have a confirmed trading purpose at the beachcombing shop. Some discoveries can also be sold to merchants in exchange for batteries. Check what the merchant accepts and what the current item offers before committing an entire stack.

The October developer notes don’t give a single guaranteed location or drop percentage for every Pirate Coin or Ambergris find. Gather along the coast, interact with beachcombing discoveries and follow the actual reward information on your server.

Tide Elves and Coral Ore

Catching Tide Elves gives a chance at Coral Ore and Pirate Coins. The keyword is chance: the developer doesn’t say that every captured creature produces Coral Ore. Look for the small coastal creatures and check the capture reward rather than relying on a fixed number of attempts.

For Once Human Ocean Resources, Coral Ore is worth tracking separately because the developers confirm its possible acquisition but don’t provide a final numerical farming rate or complete recipe in the patch announcement. Examine its current in-game item card for the precise crafting use.

Where to find Tidal Gum and Tidal Fruit

Both come from the giant tree but from different parts. Tidal Gum is collected at the trunk and processed into rubber. Tidal Fruit is gathered from the canopy and used in dishes. Make sure you’re checking the relevant part of the tree for your objective.

If the crafting requirement is rubber, prioritize the trunk. If you’re cooking, the fruit may be the better choice. These are different paths within Once Human Ocean Resources, so you don’t need to keep collecting everything in the area once you have your target material.

Renewable fishing and ocean production

As Tech progresses, the scenario also provides Trawl Nets that gather fish while your ship sails. Advanced Trawls improve the haul and can salvage floating supplies. Tidal Cages breed fish, while advanced cages shorten the cycle. Drilling Wells provide abyssal sea oil.

Black Tide Fuel can be used with Generators and Fuel Propellers, raising electrical capacity and propulsion speed limits. These are reasons why Once Human Ocean Resources matter beyond personal equipment: the supplies and production facilities help keep your ship operating.

What to do when a resource isn’t dropping

Check which collection method supplies the item. Fossils come from bones and can be used for acid extraction. Sulfur Water comes from hot springs and can be refined into sulfur. If you need the processed result, searching the shoreline for the final product won’t help.

Your available equipment and facilities also depend on scenario Tech. Characters begin at maximum level, but Tech limits certain crafting tiers and unlocks. Use the current crafting screen to verify requirements rather than assuming a missing resource is caused by bad luck.

For Once Human Ocean Resources, start with the specific material your next goal demands. The Ship Building guide covers naval equipment, Haywire Zones covers protective items, and How to Join covers entry and phases.

Harder rewards come from ocean encounters rather than ordinary coastal gathering. See Voyager Ships and Calamity Towers. The separate Starchrom giveaway provides free blueprints, not a general supply of crafting resources.

A short shopping list is the best way to handle Once Human Ocean Resources: collect enough for today’s food, facilities or trade, and return for the next materials when your Tech plan changes.
