Notoriety mobile controls got a proper layout editor in update 3.21.0. You can now move, resize, add and remove touch buttons, or start with a preset. There’s also a new Shout/Use button, leaning and aim-switch controls, better aim assist and experimental gyro aiming.

If you’ve been fighting the default layout as much as the enemies, head into Settings → Controls. A few changes to the buttons you reach most often can make a heist far more comfortable, especially on a smaller phone.

How to edit Notoriety mobile controls and button layouts

Open Settings → Controls on your phone or tablet. The new layout editor lets you reposition buttons and adjust their size. You can also add controls that are missing, remove ones you never use, or choose one of the ready-made presets instead of starting from scratch.

Start with Fire, Aim, Jump and interaction. Keep them within comfortable reach while you’re moving and avoid placing large buttons over the centre of the screen. If you remove something useful, you can add it back from the editor.

What does the new Shout / Use button do?

The combined Shout/Use button changes its action depending on the press: tap to shout; hold to interact. That makes it easy to save space on the screen, but it can catch you out when you’re trying to work on an objective.

If you’re tapping Shout/Use and nothing is happening to an object, hold the button instead. You can enlarge or move it if keeping your thumb down is awkward. It’s one of the first Notoriety mobile controls worth testing after the update.

How to use lean and aim-switch buttons

There are now dedicated buttons for leaning and switching aim. Leaning has changed too: the camera shifts farther sideways and tilts less, giving you a clearer view around cover. Put these controls somewhere you can reach without taking your thumb off movement.

If a button doesn’t appear in your chosen preset, check what’s available in the editor. You can add or reposition those controls rather than trying to use a keyboard shortcut on your phone. The new Notoriety mobile controls are designed to work as touch inputs.

Notoriety mobile controls and gyro aiming support

Gyro aiming is still described as testing. On supported devices, tilting the phone can help steer your aim. The update also improves touch aim assist and adds sensitivity sliders to Settings.

Start with small movements and see whether gyro feels comfortable alongside the touch controls. The developer hasn’t published a device compatibility list or a recommended sensitivity setting, so the result will depend on your phone and how you play.

Where is the mobile Throw button?

Mobile players also get a dedicated THROW button. It works with Quick Throw, which lets you toss a gadget without first putting away your weapon. The developer also made the throwing arc more predictable and removed the delay before a throw.

If Throw isn’t on your screen, open the Notoriety mobile controls editor and check whether the button has been removed from your layout. The Notoriety Quick Throw guide covers the revised mechanic and the knife, shuriken and Brick changes.

Notoriety mobile controls: stuck or missing buttons

The patch fixes certain situations where Fire and Jump could get stuck on mobile. If it still happens, close Roblox and launch a fresh session before trying to rebuild your entire layout.

A missing button is a different problem. Since the editor lets you remove controls, check your current arrangement first. You can also open Settings mid-heist to make adjustments without returning to the lobby.

Other useful settings added in 3.21.0

The game added selectable lobby music, sensitivity sliders and mid-heist access to Settings. Cinematic Mode also arrived for phones and consoles. These options can improve the experience but are separate from the basic touch-button layout.

The new Journal includes Career and Enemies pages with statistics such as kills per weapon, enemies by type and heist history. Some of those records only began tracking with the October update, so previous sessions aren’t necessarily included. The Journal doesn’t change how you arrange Notoriety mobile controls.
