The Year of the Ox is here, and Rocket League’s developer Psyonix revealed the new version of the Rocket League Lunar New Year event. That’s right, the Lucky Lanterns event is back, and will be live until March 1st.

In the Rocket League Lunar New Year event, players must complete the in-game event’s challenges to unlock new and exciting items, like the announced Lantern Lift and Cherry Blossom Boosts, the exclusive Temple Guardian Player Banner, and the new Dragon Decals and Paper Cut Weels. The new arena ”Forbidden Temple (Day)”, featured in the trailer above, will also be available throughout the duration of the event.

The event will also feature two new game modes, Heatseeker, a new 2v2 live now and available until February 22, and Super Cube, a new 3v3 mode that will be available from February 22 to March 1st, and, according to the game’s official site, will mark the return of the Cubic mode to the title.

It was also revealed the players can unlock for free two new items, the Short Fuse Player Banner right now and the Shen Avatar Border on February 22.

Rocket League was first released in 2015, and last year received a big update which made the title free to play and implemented a cross-save system and much more. the game’s second season started on December 9 of last year, and it’s still ongoing.

You can play Rocket League now on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One. Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PCs, exclusively via Epic Games Store.
