The notorious boss is back, and it’s over to trainers to work out how to beat Giovanni February 2023. And he is coming in stronger than ever during the Team Go Rocket Takeover.

If you’re looking to fight Giovanni for any of the legendaries he uses in Pokemon Go, you’ll know about his opening act with Persian by now. But who else is joining him in the February 2023 lineup?

How to beat Giovanni February 2023 – The Line-Up

Lineup one:

  • Persian

Giovanni will always open battle with Shadow Persian. Trainers will then progress to the 2nd round, where they must defeat either Shadow Nidoqueen, Shadow Garchomp, or Shadow Cloyster. And last but not least, in the third round, Giovanni is joined by none other than the mighty Shadow Registeel.

The Counters – how to beat Giovanni February 2023

Lineup two:

  • Nidoqueen
  • Garchomp
  • Cloyster

Nidoqueen Counters

Nidoqueen is a Poison/Ground type Pokemon, making it weak to Ice, Ground, Psychic, and Water-type attacks. 

The following Pokemon will provide the best attacks to defeat Nidoqueen:

  • Mewtwo: Confusion and Psystrike
  • Garchomp: Mudshot and Earth Power
  • Alakazam: Confusion and Psychic.
  • Azelf: Confusion and Future Sight.
  • Hoopa Unbound: Confusion and Psychic

Garchomp is a Ground and Dragon-type Pokemon. It’s weak to Dragon, Fairy and Ice-type moves.

The following Pokemon will provide the best attacks:

  • Galarian Darmanitan :Ice Fang and Avalanche
  • Glaceon: Frost Breath and Ice Beam
  • Weavile: Ice Shard and Avalanche
  • Porygon-Z: Lock-On and Blizzard
  • Jynx: Frost Breath and Avalanche

Cloyster is a Water and Ice-type Pokemon and is weak to Fighting, Electric, Grass, and Rock-type attacks.

How to beat Giovanni February 2023 – the final stage – Shadow Registeel

Shadow Registeel is a Steel-type Pokemon, making them weak to Fighting, Fire, and Ground-type Pokemon. It has resistance to 11 different move types, Poison, Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal, Psychic, Rock, and Steel-types.

The following Pokemon will give maximum benefit when trying to defeat Shadow Registeel:

  • Reshiram: Bite and Brutal Swing
  • Keldeo: Low Kick and Sacred Sword
  • Terrakion: Double Kick and Sacred Sword
  • Chandelure: Fire Spin and Overheat
  • Lucario: Counter and Aura Sphere
