Eevee Evolution Guide

For any Pokemon Go trainer, evolving Pokemon is key to completing that all-important Pokedex, and who better to explore than the evolution Pokemon itself, Eevee, as we take a look at a complete Eevee Evolution Guide.

With 8 variants arising from the one, small, fluffy Pokemon, it’s no wonder Eevee ranks up there as one of the most popular Pokemon available to trainers. With almighty powers depending on which way you go, Eevee is not one to be ignored or underestimated.

Let’s take a look below at a complete guide on how to maximize Eevee with the Complete Eevee Evolution Guide for 2023.

Let’s start as we mean to go on, and begin by exploring how you can evolve Eevee into Leafeon and Glacier.

These 2 Pokemon both require the use of a Module. The modules can be purchased for a cost of 200 Pokecoins from the in-game item store, although you may also acquire these items from challenge quests too.

Trainers must place a Glacial Lure Module within a Pokestop for Glaceon, or a Mossy Lure Module within a Pokestop for Leafeon. Once activated, stay within close proximity, and select the Eevee you wish to evolve from your Pokemon.

The symbol should change to a silhouette of the preferred Pokemon, and for 25 candies, you can complete the Glaceon or Leafeon evolution process. Pretty straightforward forward we think you’ll agree!

These two are a little different, and require minimal effort to achieve the evolution you desire!

First, place the Eevee you wish to evolve as your buddy. You must then walk 10km and earn 2 candies.

What you do next will determine the outcome.

To evolve Eevee into the psychic type Espeon, you must wait until daytime hours, making sure the silhouette matches that of Espeon, use 25 candies, and evolve.

For Umbreon, the dark-type Pokemon, you must evolve during nighttime hours, again, check the silhouette is Umbreon, or you will have to go back to step one, place a new Eevee as your buddy, and try again.

Sylveon made its way to Pokemon Go later than the other evolution, and the focus is friendship – aw.

To evolve Eevee into Sylveon, you must first place an Eevee as your buddy, and together, earn 75 hearts.

Trainers can only earn a maximum of 20 hearts a day, so this one requires a little more time, but the reward is worth it.

Once you have earned the required hearts, the Sylveon silhouette should appear, use 25 Candies, and you will have yourself a pretty Sylveon to add to your Pokedex.

For any trainer who has tried to evolve Eevee into Jolteon, Vaporeon, or Flareon, you will know, the struggle is real!

There’s no easy way to do these ones I’m afraid, it’s pure luck. Random chance, no guarantees, and can be rather annoying if you’re limited on Eevees or candy.

All you can do is try! Pick an Eevee, use 25 Candies, and evolve.

Eevee Evolution Guide – The Nickname Trick

Trainers who are well accustomed to Pokemon will be aware of the ‘nickname trick’ to allow them to evolve Eevee.

Available to use only once, trainers can rename the Eevee they wish to evolve, each based on NPC’s from the anime or core games, to guarantee themselves the evolution of choice:

  • Rainer for Vaporeon
  • Sparky for Jolteon
  • Pyro for Flareon
  • Sakura for Espeon
  • Tamao for Umbreon
  • Linnea for Leafeon
  • Rea for Glaceon
  • Kira for Sylveon

Once this method has been used, trainers will have to revert to the original method outlined above, so use this wisely! You never know when you may need this quick trick for a challenge.

And there we have it trainers, everything you need to know about how to evolve the lovely Eevee!
