The Spotlight hour kicking off March 2022 for Pokemon Go will feature Cubone, the lonely Pokemon, as well as double transfer candy.

What can we expect from the Cubone Spotlight in Pokemon Go?

If you’re somehow not familiar with spotlight hours yet, the good news is I’ll give you a pretty quick crash course in them.

These events are one-hour blasts of a set Pokemon, Cubone, in this case. Pretty much every single wild spawn will be replaced with it, so you’ll be seeing a huge amount of this lonely little Pokemon all over the world.

This does have the side effect of not seeing any other Pokemon for the majority of the event either – though some spawns do occasionally pop through even during Spotlight hours, it isn’t intended and is very rare that that occurs.

In other words, this event will be great for you if you like Cubone. If you don’t, you’re kinda out of luck. Or at least, that’s what I would say if it wasn’t for the event bonuses that are tagged into the spotlight hour events. You see, the event bonus this time is actually doubling transfer candy, which is actually hugely beneficial if you have pre-existing Pokemon you want to transfer out, because it doubles the value of all of them.

With that in mind, this is an event you should try to attend if you can, even if you don’t like Cubone that much.

When is the Cubone Spotlight hour?

Cubone spotlight hour will take place on the 1st of March at 6:00 PM local time – and runs for precisely one hour, thus ending at 7:00 PM local time. As this spotlight hour is so early in the month, we can expect 5 spotlight hours this month, so make sure to keep an eye out on further spotlight hour news.

Is there anything else to mention?

There isn’t a whole lot else to say about Spotlight hours, these events are simple and short. You can use them to farm to Shiny Pokemon, provided the variant is enabled in-game – which fortunately for you readers, it is. So if you want a Shiny Cubone, consider that an extra reason to attend the event.
