Pokemon Go: Cacnea Spotlight hour, ft. doubled catch candy

Pokemon Anime Cacnea

Last Updated on: 1st November 2021, 04:29 pm

This weeks Spotlight hour in Pokemon Go will feature Cacnea, the cactus Pokemon, as well as a doubled capture candy bonus.

If you don’t particularly care about Cacnea in Pokemon Go, it might be worth skipping this one given that the doubled capture candy will only really help you with Cacnea, as almost all spawns for this hour will be that specific Pokemon.

What can we expect from the Cacnea Spotlight hour?

For anyone who isn’t used to this particular Pokemon Go event type, Spotlight hours are basically a one-hour long event consisting of all spawns being replaced by a single Pokemon, in this case, that means Cacnea. A whole lot of Cacnea.

The spawn replacing effects are quite similar to what you’d expect from a Community day, but Spotlight hours do not come with all the other extras, they are very simple affairs comparatively.

This is all great if you like Cacnea, not so much if you’re not really a fan of the Cactus Pokemon.

Fortunately, there is also typically an additional bonus. The event bonus can occasionally go some way to compensating for featured Pokemon that a trainer doesn’t want – unfortunately, doubled capture candy doesn’t really do anything except get you more resources for Cacnea.

On the upside, it’ll make a nice chance to get Cacturne if you haven’t already.

When is the Pokemon Go Cacnea Spotlight hour?

The Cacnea spotlight hour for Pokemon Go will start on November 2nd at 6:00 PM local time and will run until 7:00 PM local time, for a total duration of one hour.

This is the usual length of spotlight hours as the name indicates, and exceptions to this are extremely rare if they ever occur.

Additionally, for those unfamiliar with Pokemon Go’s Local time, it means that you don’t need to worry about timezones because the game event will take place at that time in every timezone, so it’ll be a staggered out event launch across the world.

What else is there to know?

The only other thing really worth considering with spotlight hours is using them as a chance to gather Shiny versions of the featured Pokemon, and as it happens, Shiny Cacnea is available in Pokemon Go, so you can use this to farm it if you’re looking for one.

Good luck on that Shiny hunting, Trainers.

That’s about everything as far as the Cacnea spotlight hour is concerned, though if you’d like more guides or articles about Pokemon Go, you can find them right here on The Click, and if you’d instead like to see more by me specifically, a list of my articles is available here.
