Pokemon Go is holding a second community day this month, a classic community day rerun featuring Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokemon.

Community day classic: Bulbasaur

This seems to be Niantic’s solution to the issue of running either Community days that contain previously unfeatured and thus new Pokemon or re-running older ones that have already been used for newer players to get them.

It’s actually not a bad solution at all, at least if they’re going to run both a Community day classic and normal Community day each month it’ll certainly avoid that problem entirely. If they plan to alternate, they haven’t solved much at all.

Anyway, on to the event itself. Bulbasaur’s community day classic will be hitting Pokemon Go on January 22nd at 2:00 PM local time and runs for 3 hours until 5:00 PM local time.

That makes for a bit of a difference from the usual community day events, which run for twice as long.

Event Bonuses

The event will feature tripled capture experience, as well as tripled duration for Incense and Lures, giving them 3 hours each total.

The event will also feature access to an exclusive move, Frenzy Plant, a charged attack with 100 power in both Trainer battles and PvE battles.

There will also be two new bundles in the store, one free one featuring 30 Ultra balls, and another premium one, available for 1280 coins containing:

  • 50 Ultra balls
  • Five Lucky Eggs
  • Five Star Pieces
  • Elite Charged TM

Is there anything else?

You’ll be able to snap pictures with Bulbasaur if you take any AR photos during the duration of the event, for those of you who enjoy collecting photobombs.

Of course, being a Community day you can expect a boosted shiny rate to Bulbasaur for the duration. Community day “classics” don’t seem to vary in many regards, just total duration.

That’s everything there is to say about these new classic community days, good luck grabbing those Bulbasaur trainers – Anyway, if you’re interested in reading more content, you can find more Pokemon Go articles, stories and guides on The Click right here, and if you’ve enjoyed my work specifically you can find more articles written by me are available here.
