How to master a Sprite in Fortnite is still about levelling up a Sprite and extracting it at maximum level. Treasure Hunters changes the search: Wanted Posters lead you to buried Sprite Chests, while the Treasure tab in the Lobby tracks your new mastery rewards.
The key difference is collecting versus mastering. Opening a Sprite Chest adds a new hunting opportunity, but you need to build up its XP and extract it to record mastery. Once mastered, the account remembers it even if that Sprite resets to Level 1 in a later match.
How to master a Sprite in Fortnite Treasure Hunters
Epic’s original Sprite rules require a Sprite to reach its maximum level, normally Level 5, before a successful extraction. Here’s the new route on Crossbones Isle:
- Land near buildings and search their walls for a Wanted Poster.
- Tear it down to pick up a Sprite Treasure Map.
- Follow the map to the buried Sprite Chest and dig it up.
- Collect the Sprite and earn XP by exploring, opening Chests and fighting opponents.
- Get it to maximum level, normally Level 5, and extract it successfully.
- Open the Sprites tab and check for the crown icon that marks it as mastered.
That’s how to master a Sprite in Fortnite during Treasure Hunters. If a Sprite has unusual automatic-extraction rules, follow its game description, but for standard Sprites, simply reaching the level cap without banking it isn’t the full process.
How to find Sprites with Wanted Posters
Wanted Posters are found on walls and turn into Treasure Maps when taken down. Each map points to a buried Sprite Chest. This replaces the older Override cheat-code pad route as your first place to look for new Treasure Hunters Sprites.
Exmarks reveals nearby posters and maps, while Wayfinder reveals Sprites. Neither promises a particular rare drop, but both can help you find the next target faster. If the first building is busy, check another rather than waiting on a guaranteed spawn that Epic hasn’t announced.
How to master a Sprite in Fortnite faster on Mondays
Epic has brought back Mastery Monday with 2x Sprite XP, 2x Sprite Dust, and extra Wanted Posters and Sprite Chests. On 2 November, the Monday event began at 2 PM GMT. It’s a useful time to tackle unmastered Sprites because you’re earning XP faster as you play.
Our current Double Sprite Dust guide covers the farming loop. When working on how to master a Sprite in Fortnite, concentrate on keeping your equipped Sprite alive rather than chasing every fight across the Island.
How to master a Sprite in Fortnite without losing mastery
Mastered status stays permanently recorded even when a Sprite returns to Level 1 after being lost. That’s confirmed by Epic’s support guidance. Look for the crown icon above the Sprite in your collection to see which ones are already completed.
Treasure Hunters also adds numbered sorting and Sprite Stamps to the Sprites screen. View Info explains what each stamp means, so you can identify which characters you’ve acquired and decide what to work on next.
How to master a Sprite in Fortnite for the Strongbox
Open the Treasure tab in the Lobby. This season’s Sprite Mastery track gives rewards such as Lucky Locators, Golden Fireworks and other Gizmos, with new pages unlocking weekly. The Sprite Mastery Strongbox Back Bling upgrades as progress increases.
The Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella is a separate reward for 40 mastered Sprites. That isn’t the Strongbox unlock requirement. Check the actual reward cards in the Treasure tab for each milestone rather than confusing the two cosmetics.

How this differs from Chapter 7 Season 3
The original version of this article covered the Chapter 7 Season 3 Runners map, including older teleporter routes. The basic max-level extraction system still applies, but the current Treasure Hunters season introduces Wanted Posters, maps and buried chests. Old route screenshots belong to that earlier season, not the November island.

Do you need Level 5?

Does mastery disappear if you lose the Sprite?
No. The level can reset after a loss, but Epic confirms the mastery crown stays recorded.
Does the umbrella unlock after collecting 40 Sprites?
No. You must master 40 Sprites, not just collect them.
