Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track

The Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track launched on October 20, 2026 with the new expansion. The free side starts with Archaedas at level 1 and continues with Golden cards, packs, Tavern Tickets, Gold and two random Legendary rewards before the level 100 hero skin choice.

A paid Tavern Pass runs beside it with Diamond and Signature cards, eight hero skins, XP boosts, a card back, the Reign of the Black Empire Coin and extra packs. You can buy the pass after you have already started levelling and still receive the paid rewards from every level you have reached.

Can you buy the Tavern Pass later?

Yes. Buying the Tavern Pass after you have already made progress on the Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track does not reset the track. Blizzard says the purchase immediately applies the 10% XP boost for the rest of the expansion and grants every paid reward up to your current level.

That means you can start on the free track, see how much you are playing and decide later whether the paid rewards are worth it for you. Blizzard has not listed a price in its rewards-track announcement, so there is no confirmed price to attach to the new pass yet.

What happened to unclaimed rewards at the October 20 reset?

When the Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track replaced the previous track on October 20, Blizzard automatically granted rewards earned but not claimed from the old free track. The same applied to earned rewards on the outgoing Tavern Pass for players who had bought it.

That only covers rewards from levels you actually reached. It does not unlock levels you missed before the reset.

Is the Tavern Pass worth buying?

The free Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track already covers the useful progression rewards, including cards, packs, Tickets and Gold. You can play through the whole season without buying the pass and still reach the level 100 hero skin choice.

The Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire Rewards Track gives you a complete free progression path, while the Tavern Pass adds the extra cosmetics, Diamond and Signature cards and faster XP progression. If those are the rewards you care about, the paid track adds plenty without changing what you can earn for free.

The new track is live now. Your current XP level determines which free rewards you can claim, while the Tavern Pass adds its separate paid rewards and XP boosts.
