Hearthstone Chaos Coin: How to Complete Bow Down, Mortals!

Hearthstone Chaos Coin

The Hearthstone Chaos Coin is the full-set collection cosmetic for Reign of the Black Empire. It comes from the Bow Down, Mortals! Feat, which asks you to collect all 135 different cards in the expansion.

This is separate from the Reign of the Black Empire Coin on the Tavern Pass. One rewards finishing the card set; the other rewards reaching level 90 on the paid track.

How to get the Hearthstone Chaos Coin

The Chaos Coin is the full-set collection reward for Reign of the Black Empire.

To get the Hearthstone Chaos Coin, complete Bow Down, Mortals! by collecting all 135 different Reign of the Black Empire cards. Once every unique card in the set is represented in your collection, the Feat is complete.

Duplicates don’t push the counter any higher. A second copy may still be useful for a deck or for dust, but Bow Down, Mortals! is looking for unique cards you haven’t already counted.

What counts toward the Hearthstone Chaos Coin?

Bow Down, Mortals! only counts cards from Reign of the Black Empire. Blizzard lists the expansion as a 135-card set, and the Feat asks for 135 different cards, so the target is a complete unique collection from that set.

Cards from other expansions, including Escape from Violet Hold, won’t add to that total. Every counted card has to belong to Reign of the Black Empire.

Do duplicate cards count?

No. If the card is already represented in your collection, another copy won’t create a new unique entry for the Feat. The 135 figure is about different cards, not the total number of cards you own.

That becomes more noticeable near the end of the set, when only a few gaps are left. At that point, check what is actually missing before opening more packs or spending dust solely for the Hearthstone Chaos Coin.

Hearthstone Chaos Coin vs Reign of the Black Empire Coin

Both coins arrive with Reign of the Black Empire, but they have nothing to do with each other’s unlock. The Hearthstone Chaos Coin comes from the 135-card collection Feat; the Reign of the Black Empire Coin comes from Tavern Pass level 90.

The Tavern Pass will not shortcut the Chaos Coin requirement. If the Chaos Coin is the cosmetic you are chasing, the collection counter is what matters.

How to reach 135 different cards faster

Early on, packs will fill the collection far faster than crafting individual cards because you are missing so much of the set. Reign of the Black Empire also has several free pack sources around launch, so there is no need to craft every gap immediately.

The launch event includes Reign of the Black Empire packs, the Rewards Track adds more packs and cards, The Road to Ny’alotha gives seven packs across Journey, and the October 23 Legendary Quest Chain adds a normal pack plus a Golden one.

Crafting becomes more useful when the collection is nearly complete and packs stop filling obvious gaps. Check the missing Epics and Legendaries first, because those are likely to be the expensive final pieces.

When can you unlock the Hearthstone Chaos Coin?

Bow Down, Mortals! was added with Patch 37.0, while Reign of the Black Empire launches fully on October 20, 2026. That is when the complete 135-card expansion enters normal release.

The Common and Rare Trial Cards in the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl are temporary and disappear when the Brawl ends. They won’t permanently fill those slots in your collection, so they aren’t a shortcut to the Hearthstone Chaos Coin.

Is the Hearthstone Chaos Coin free?

The coin itself has no separate Shop price; the Feat awards it. Completing the 135-card collection can still cost Gold, dust or money depending on how quickly you want to finish and which cards you are missing.

No single bundle completes the Hearthstone Chaos Coin requirement on its own. However you build the set, you still need all 135 different Reign of the Black Empire cards.
