GTA Online Fire It Up is the second Franklin and Lamar Short Trip. The pair travel to Sandy Shores to destroy Vagos cannabis-growing operations, steal an armed Technical, fight off a helicopter and escape with a Youga Classic van. Unlike Seed Capital, this mission includes a fertiliser mechanic you must use to burn the rival stock.
Exactly two players are required. The host plays Franklin and the partner plays Lamar. Launch the mission through Online → Jobs → Play Job → Rockstar Created → Missions without owning an Agency. You’ll fight at two warehouses, so don’t leave after burning the first grow room.
GTA Online Fire It Up objective list
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Race to Sandy Shores | Reach the first Vagos warehouse |
| First grow site | Clear enemies, pour fertiliser and ignite the plants |
| Technical | Capture the armed pickup and reach another warehouse |
| Second grow site | Burn another batch of cannabis plants |
| Escape | Deliver the Youga Classic to Franklin’s house |
Both protagonists need to survive, and the vehicle objectives must be completed. Fire It Up follows Seed Capital in the story and leads to OG Kush, although the Jobs menu allows you to replay individual Short Trips.
How to start GTA Online Fire It Up
Open Rockstar Created Missions, select Short Trip — Fire It Up and invite exactly one other player. If you want to be Lamar, join somebody else’s hosted session. Record A Studios’ Smoking Room is another starting point if you’ve unlocked it, but it isn’t needed to use the Jobs menu.
The Short Trips guide lists the three jobs and current bonus requirements. This week’s GTA$500,000 promotion is for completing all three, so finishing only Fire It Up won’t trigger that payment.

GTA Online Fire It Up: get to the first grow house
At the start, Franklin rides his Bagger and Lamar drives his Emperor towards Sandy Shores. Follow the objective to the Vagos warehouse. The opening drive is simply a route to the first Vagos grow house. Arrive together and take cover before starting the shootout. Deal with the exterior guards before trying to enter the grow room.
The Vagos can alert reinforcements if you are spotted. Use cover and eliminate exposed enemies instead of charging the doorway. The objective is not simply to kill the gang members: you also have to destroy the plants inside.
GTA Online Fire It Up: burn the first stash with fertiliser
Inside the first building, locate the blue fertiliser can. Pour fertiliser around the marked cannabis plants, move out of the spill area, then shoot the trail to ignite it. Repeatedly shooting the plants without following the fertiliser objective will not replace this step.
Keep the other player away from the area while it ignites. Once the first batch has burned, move outside for the next phase. A Vagos Technical with a mounted machine gun becomes the team’s next vehicle. Eliminate the gang controlling it, take the pickup and assign one player to drive while the other operates the weapon.
Drive the Technical and handle the Buzzard
The trip to the next warehouse includes gang vehicles, Sanchez motorcycles and a Buzzard helicopter. Keep the Technical moving, while the gunner prioritises whichever enemy can put sustained fire on the vehicle. When the helicopter offers a clear shot, deal with it before returning to smaller pursuers.
For GTA Online Fire It Up, have the Technical’s gunner prioritise the helicopter and armed pursuers while the driver follows the objective marker. The driver shouldn’t make sudden stops in the open, and the gunner needs to know before a sharp turn changes the firing angle. Stay with the mission route rather than chasing enemies away from the destination.

GTA Online Fire It Up: burn the second stash and escape
At the second warehouse, clear the guarding Vagos and find the fertiliser again. Spread it on the cannabis plants, stand clear and ignite it. Completing only the first grow house doesn’t satisfy the mission; the second crop must be destroyed too.
Afterward, take the Youga Classic carrying the remaining stock as the mission instructs. Follow the escape route back to Franklin’s house in Vinewood Hills while the Vagos pursue. Protect the van rather than stopping to fight every vehicle on the road. The ending sequence triggers when you reach the required destination.
GTA Online Fire It Up rewards and mission failures
Current mission records show GTA$50,000 on Normal and GTA$62,500 on Hard, plus separate first-completion awards for both playable characters. The October 22–28 Halloween promotion offers a separate GTA$500,000 for completing all three Short Trips, with weekly reporting stating payment within 72 hours.
One GTA Online Fire It Up clear won’t be enough if you haven’t finished Seed Capital and OG Kush. Check our Halloween Week 4 guide for other rewards and the Halloween Weekly Challenge tracker for its different five-week requirement.
What if GTA Online Fire It Up won’t progress?
If the crop objective is stuck, check whether you picked up the fertiliser and ignited the marked trail rather than just firing into plants. If the vehicle stage isn’t progressing, confirm that both players are at the required vehicle and neither has been left behind.
Rockstar has patched earlier Short Trips issues affecting cutscenes and restarts. If the correct objectives are finished but the job still freezes, try a fresh lobby. The Security Contracts guide covers unrelated Agency jobs, which are not part of the three-mission bonus.
